Four Badgers head to ITA All-American Championships
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis program opens its fall season at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Sept. 19. Juniors Edouard Aubert, Ferdinand Kloesters, Patrik Meszaros and senior Tomas Zlatohlavek will represent the Badgers.
1. FOLLOW ALONG
Kloesters and Meszaros will represent Wisconsin in both doubles and singles play, while Aubert and Zlatohlavek will compete in singles play. On Saturday, all four Badgers will see the court for pre-qualifying rounds. Aubert, Kloesters and Zlatohlavek will begin play at 9 a.m. and Meszaros see the court at 11:30 a.m.

2. WELCOME TO MADISON, HOLGER!
Wisconsin men's tennis welcomes one newcomer, freshman Jens Holger Nissen, to its lineup for the 2026-27 season. Nissen joins the Badgers after a standout pre-collegiate performance, accumulating a 64-22 overall record and ranking No. 59 in the incoming freshman class after rising 100 spots in the last year. The Ellicott City, Maryland, native was the No. 1 recruit in the state according to tennisrecruiting.net.
In addition to Nissen, eight returning Badgers complete the roster. Amongst the eight are juniors Aubert, Kloesters, Meszaros and Sachiv Kumar alongside seniors Zlatohlavek, Collin Beduhn, Matthew Fullerton and Oliver Olsson.
3. ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
Head Coach Danny Westerman enters his 12th year leading the Badgers after wrapping up the 2025-26 season, leaving a mark on the record book. Westerman led the team to a 18-8 record last spring, good for the eighth-most wins in a single season in program history, en route to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017. Their eight wins in conference play also marked the second-most in program history.
4. FALL SEASON OVERVIEW
The Badgers are slated to participate in eight events this fall with opportunities to compete for individual titles through November before dual play begins in January. Wisconsin will participate in two events in September before competing in three in October, including the Big Ten Individual Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.
From there, select Badgers will compete at the ITA Sectional Championships in Waco, Texas, and ITA Masters Conference Championships in Rome, Georgia, on Nov. 5 to Nov. 8. Wisconsin will close out fall play at the NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, Georgia, on Nov. 17 to Nov. 22.
5. UP NEXT
After competing at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, the Badgers will hit the road to South Bend, Indiana, for the Notre Dame Invite from Friday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sept. 27.
