Kloesters and Meszaros represent Wisconsin at ITA Central Sectionals
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's tennis juniors Ferdinand Kloesters and Patrik Meszaros are set to compete at the ITA Central Sectional Championships in Waco, Texas, from Nov. 5-8.
Before the Badgers hit the courts, here are five things to know:
1. FOLLOW ALONG
Kloesters and Meszaros will represent the Badgers in Texas over the weekend, marking the third time the juniors will compete this fall.

2. A LOOK AT SECTIONALS
This marks the first time in program history that a Badger on the men's tennis team will compete at the ITA Sectionals since the tournament's introduction in 2024. The Sectional Championships serve as the last path for the pair to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships, held in Rome, Georgia, on Nov. 17-22.
Six players will advance out of the singles draw, alongside three doubles teams directly to NCAA Individuals.
3. REVISITING BIG TEN INDIVIDUALS
Last weekend, six Badgers posted strong results at the Big Ten Individual Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Senior Matthew Fullerton and Junior Edouard Aubert highlighted the tournament with a runner-up finish in doubles play, combining for a 4-1 record as they advanced to the finals from the Round of 32.
In singles play, three Badgers made an appearance in the Round of 16, including Fullerton, Aubert and Tomas Zlatohlavek. All six Badgers that competed in Ann Arbor advanced out of the Round of 64. Fullerton, Sachiv Kumar and Jens Holger Nissen earned straight-sets wins over their opponents as senior Collin Beduhn battled back from a first-set loss to earn a three-set victory over his Michigan opponent. Aubert and Zlatohlavek earned first-round byes.
4. UP NEXT
Through ITA Sectionalis, Kloesters and Meszaros will compete for a bid to the NCAA Individual Championships in Rome, Georgia on Nov. 17-22, to wrap up fall competition.
