Badgers add Dorja Iva Zaja to 2025-26 roster

Croatian national player comes to Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - Head coach Robin Pingeton and the Wisconsin women's basketball team have announced the addition of Dorja Zaja to the 2025–26 roster.

A 6-foot-3 center from Croatia, Zaja has spent time with the FIBA U20 women's euro basketball teams, beginning her FIBA career in 2018. In 2024 she appeared in six games where she averaged 12.5 points per game and pulled down 7.5 rebounds per game.  

Over the course of the 2024 campaign, Zaja shot 46.9% from the field and 50.0% from the free throw line. She was effective on defensive tallying 15 blocks on the season and collecting 32 defensive rebounds. She has seen multiple success over her career and was named MVP of U18 Eurobasket challenge, ⁠Eurobasket U18 All-Star Five, Nike Hoops Summit participant 
and Winner of Croatian Cup 2025

Additionally, Zaja played in the Croatia-Premijer League for Tresnjevka, making 25 appearances in the process. For her team, Zaja averaged 9.4 points per game in 20.7 minutes of action. She accumulated 141 rebounds in that time, including 58 on the offensive end for Tresnjevka. Zaja is currently shooting 55.2% from the field, emerging as a staple in the frontcourt. The 21-year-old will continue her postseason stretch in the next couple of weeks.
