Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Purdue Boilermakers:
1. A GLANCE AT THE SEASON: The Badgers hold an 11-10 overall record and a 2-8 mark in conference play, having battled some of the toughest opponents in college basketball.
Serah Williams continues to shine, standing out as one of only two players nationally averaging a double-double with 18.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
2. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers clawed past the Michigan Wolverines in an 82-75 home victory. Wisconsin's three-point shooting paved the way for the win, as the Badgers sank 12 three-pointers, tying for the fourth-best performance in program history. Success from beyond the arc was spread across four different players. As a team, Wisconsin shot 53.1% (26-49) from the field, 48.0% (12-15) from beyond the arc, and 85.7% (18-21) from the free-throw line. The Wolverines hit 47.6% from the field, 30.0% from three, and 75.0% from the line.
3. SCOUTING THE BOILERMAKERS: Purdue enters this game with a 7-14 record and has struggled in conference play, sitting at 0-10 in Big Ten action. They most recently suffered a 74-68 loss to Nebraska. Under the leadership of head coach Katie Gearlds, the Boilermakers are averaging 62.8 points per game and pulling down 34.7 rebounds per game
4. HISTORY WITH PURDUE: Wisconsin last faced the Boilermakers during the 2023-24 season, where they were defeated 55-79 at home. The Badgers trail the all-time series 22-58 and are looking to snap a four-game losing streak against Purdue.
5. LOOKING AHEAD: The Badgers will return home to host the No. 4 USC Trojans in a midweek match up. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The game will also celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
