MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's basketball team (15-16, 6-12 B1G) will host the Saint Louis Billikens (19-18, 8-9 A10) in the Great 8 round of the 2024 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) Monday, April 1. Opening tip from the Kohl Center is set for 7 p.m. (CT) and the game can be streamed live on B1G+ or listened to on 1070 WTSO-AM.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers matchup against the Billikens:

1. HISTORY IN THE WNIT: Wisconsin is amidst its seventh-overall appearance in the WNIT and its first since the 2010-11 season. UW opened this year's tournament with a 67-62 win over Southern Indiana on Monday, March  25, and followed up with a commanding 86-61 win over Illinois State on Thursday, March 28. Wisconsin is set to play in its fourth Great 8 round in program history, after previously advancing in the 2006-07 season. Wisconsin has found past success in the WNIT, advancing to the championship game three times and even winning the championship in 2000.

2. LAST TIME OUT: In the round of Super 16 on Thursday, March 28, the Badgers downed the Illinois State Redbirds, 86-61, inside the Kohl Center. After trailing for a majority of the game prior against Southern Indiana, the Badgers pushed the pace early and showed off an offense that proved too much for their opponent. The Badgers scored 50 points in the first half alone, the most the team has recorded in a 20-minute stretch all season, and they led at the break, 50-34. When the team came returned from the locker room, Wisconsin maintained the first-half momentum and continued to drain big shots. Serah Williams and Sania Copeland ended the game with 18 points apiece and the team sank nine three pointers en route to a 25-point victory.

3. HISTORY WITH SAINT LOUIS: Monday's Great 8 game against Saint Louis will mark the third overall meeting between the two programs. Wisconsin leads the series 2-0, with one win coming from the Kohl Center and the other in Billiken territory. In the last matchup on Dec. 5, 2011, Wisconsin emerged victorious, 48-46, at home in Madison. Wisconsin finished the game 19-of-46 (41.3%) from the field, going 4-of-11 (36.4%) from 3-point range.

4. SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS: The Saint Louis Billikens are 19-18 overall with an 8-9 record in the Atlantic 10 conference. The team finished the regular season seventh in the A10, but advanced to the semifinal round of its conference tournament before falling to No. 6-seeded Rhode Island, 68-62. Since then, the team has won three games in the WNIT, with its latest victory coming against Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Mar. 29, 82-78. The team is led in scoring by senior Peyton Kennedy, who averages 16.8 points per game to go with 5.3 rebounds.

5. LOOKING AHEAD: If Wisconsin advances past Saint Louis, the team will move onto the Fab 4 round that will take place either Tuesday, April 2, and Wednesday, April 3. The Badgers' opponent would be the winner of the matchup between Purdue and Vermont, which is being played Monday, April 1 at 6 p.m. Wisconsin is looking to make its third-ever appearance in the semifinal round of the WNIT.
