Wisconsin | Wright State

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's basketball team (0-0, 0-0 B1G) will host the Wright State Raiders (0-0, 0-0 Horizon League) for its first official game of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. (CT) inside the Kohl Center. The game will be streamed on B1G+ and 1070 WTSO-AM.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Raiders:

1. A GLANCE AT THE SEASON: Head coach Marisa Moseley will begin her fourth season at the team's helm. Moseley returns Jaime Gluesing and Margaret McKeon to the coaching staff while adding Frozena Jerro this offseason. On the court, Wisconsin returns key players such as Serah Williams, Halle Douglass, Natalie Leuzinger, and Ronnie Porter. Last season, the four collected an average of 37.6 ppg and 21.1 rpg. The team will also see many fresh faces, including transfers Tess Myers (Duquesne) and Carter McCray (NKU).

2. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers blew past the Stevens Point Pointers in a preseason exhibition, winning 72-41. Wisconsin outscored the Pointers in the paint 44-14 and 25-3 in fast breaks. The Badgers had the advantage in the field, out-shooting the Pointers 41.5% to 24.1%.

3. HISTORY WITH WRIGHT STATE: The Badgers will face the Raiders for the first time in program history. The all-time series is tied, 0-0.

4. SCOUTING THE RAIDERS: Wright State is a Division I institution and calls the Horizon League home. Last season, the Raiders held an 11-9 conference record under head coach Kari Hoffman, who was in her eighth season. The Raiders have lost their top three scorers from last season: Alexis Hutchinson, Kacee Baumhower, and Layne Ferrell. Defensively, WSU held its opponents to 33.2 % from the arc last season and averaged 7.9 steals per game.

5. LOOKING AHEAD: The Badgers will continue non-conference play, hosting Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Kohl Center. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. (CT), with the game streaming on B1G+.
