MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team is headed to Cancun, Mexico, for the Cancun Challenge, taking place Nov. 28-30. The game will be streamed on FloCollege and broadcast on 1070 AM and the iHeart Radio app.

1. A Look at the Badgers: The Badgers are off to a stellar start, boasting a 5-1 record—their best opening since the 2019-20 season. Wisconsin's depth is on full display this year, with all 15 players contributing minutes. Key performers include:
- Serah Williams: leads the team with 19.8Â points and 12.2Â rebounds per game.
- Ronnie Porter: averages 15.0 points per game.
- Tess Myers: Adding 10.3 points per game while shooting efficiently from beyond the arc.
Wisconsin has been dominant on the boards, averaging 39.8 rebounds per game compared to their opponents' 33.0—a marked improvement from last season.
2. The Playing Field: Wisconsin will compete in a round-robin format, facing San Diego State, Providence, and VCU.Â
Here's a look at the competition:
- San Diego State (6-0): A veteran team led by Adryana Quezada, a sixth-year forward who averaged 14 points and 6.4 rebounds last season, shooting 53% from the field. The Aztecs feature seven returners in their fourth year or later, including standout Kim Villalobos (10.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.6 APG).
- Providence (3-3): Anchored by preseason All-Big East selections Olivia Olsen and Grace Efosa. Olsen, a 6'3" senior forward, is averaging 13.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while Efosa, a fifth-year guard, contributes 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.
- VCU (3-2): The Rams are led by junior guard Timaya Lewis-Eutsey, who earned All-Atlantic 10 honors last season with 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Defensive ace Mary-Anna Asare is a sharpshooter from deep, and forward Mykel Parham controls the boards with 8.4 rebounds per game.
3. Last Time Out: The Badgers extended their unbeaten streak at home with a nail-biting 67-65 victory over Omaha on Nov. 23.
- Serah Williams: Recorded her 26th career double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
- Tess Myers: Drained five three-pointers to contribute 15 points.
- Natalie Leuzinger: Scored a season-high 16 points to help seal the win.
