MADISON, Wis. —  The Wisconsin women's basketball team (8-6, 1-3 B1G) returns home to play Northwestern (6-9, 1-3 B1G) Wednesday, Jan. 10 inside the Kohl Center. Tip off is at 6:30 p.m., and the game can be streamed live on B1G+, or listened to on 1070 WTSO-AM.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Wildcats.

1. WILLIAMS' FOURTH DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Serah Williams claimed her fourth double-double of the 2023-24 season Sunday against Illinois, and once again displayed her versatility on both ends of the court. The sophomore delivered 27 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and tied her career-high in blocks with five. Williams sat just three minutes the entire contest and provided an elite style of play in a game where Wisconsin was playing a short bench.

2. RONNIE'S DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE: Ronnie Porter joined Williams in notching a double-double, her third of the season, and crafted a stat line of 14 points and 12 rebounds. The sophomore added a career-high eight assists and tied her career-high in steals with five. Porter was just two assists shy of securing Wisconsin's first-ever triple double, and was an essential component of the Badgers' first conference road win of the season. With Porter's five steals, her season total is at 38, and she continues to lead the Big Ten with 2.7 per game.

3. BADGERS SHOW THEIR GRIT: Wisconsin was down two starters, D'Yanis Jimenez and Brooke Schramek, in its game against Illinois, but that did not give them an excuse to not compete to the team's best ability. Instead, the team rose to the occasion and the seven players that entered the game for UW played tough Wisconsin basketball. Coach Moseley's crew was relentless in their desire to defeat Illinois and led for 35 minutes of the contest. Illinois led by no more than one point in the entire game, and Wisconsin headed back to Madison with a six-point road victory.

4. CRASHING THE BOARDS: Wisconsin of course outscored Illinois en route to victory, but the team worked just as hard to rebound the ball, and the discrepancy between the two teams was evident. Wisconsin brought in 47 rebounds as opposed to Illinois 35, and got major contributions from Williams (15), Porter (12), Halle Douglass (5) and Sania Copeland (4). Wisconsin also brought in 16 offensive rebounds, the most of the 2023-24 season, and ended up scoring 13 second-chance points.

5. SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: Wisconsin will welcome the Wildcats as the teams play the 79th game between the two programs. Northwestern leads the all-time series, 46-33, but the Badgers claimed the last game, 64-57 last season, and will look to keep its win streak alive. This season, the Wildcats are 6-9 overall and 1-3 in conference play with a 77-70 win against Rutgers. Northwestern is led in scoring by junior Caileigh Walsh, who averages 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.
