Game Coverage

Sunday, Feb. 28 | 2 p.m. | Kohl Center | Madison Wis.

MADISON, Wis – Wisconsin (5-16, 2-16 B1G) wraps up its home season on Sunday, when Iowa (13-7, 9-7) comes to town. Tip time is 2 p.m. live on FoxSportsNorth. The Badgers take to the road for their final game of the season, traveling to Michigan State on March 5. Tip time is 1 p.m. CT from the Breslin Center in East Lansing. The  bracket  for  the  2021  Big  Ten  Tournament  will  be  announced on March 6. A first-round game will be held on March 9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Here are five things to know before tuning in:

1. CZECH THIS OUT: Sophomore Julie Pospíšilovà led the Badgers in four separate stat categories last time out against Indiana. The Prague, Czech Republic native finished with 16 points while also leading the team with five rebounds and four assists while sharing team high honors with two steals. On the other side of the ball, Pospíšilovà has turned up her defense over the last four games, averaging 2.5 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. On the season, the 6-foot guard leads the Badgers with 1.6 steals per game, which ties for 13th in the Big Ten. She also ties for fourth in the conference with 1.3 blocks per game.

2. BENCH HELP: Freshman Kate Thompson played a career-high 21 minutes against Indiana, scoring six point while adding three rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Wisconsin also saw more playing time from both freshman guard Halle Douglass and sophomore forward Tara Stauffacher. The three young Badgers saw the extra court time as post Sara Stapleton missed her second straight game with an ankle injury. Junior Imani Lewis picked up her second foul less than three minutes in the game and Sydney Hilliard injured her ankle in the second quarter, playing a season-low 17 minutes.

3. SCOUTING IOWA: The 13-7 overall Hawkeyes sit seventh in the Big Ten with a high-powered offense, but also give a lot of points on defense. As a team, Iowa ranks last in the Big Ten in average points allowed. Individually, they have the Big Ten's leading scorer in freshman Caitlin Clark, who is averaging 27.3 points per game. Clark's partner in crime is the Big Ten's sixth leading scorer in Monika Czinano, averaging 18.8 ppg. Defensively, Wisconsin will need to shut down these two elite scorers.

4. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers last faced off against the Hawkeyes going all the way back to December in what was Wisconsin's first Big Ten matchup. The Badgers fell on the road, 85-78, but are looking to stage a revenge game in Madison this Sunday. Sydney Hilliard putt up 26 points in the December matchup and Imani Lewis finished with 17 points. Wisconsin's one-two punch was productive in the first matchup with Iowa, but will need to be even better in order to get a late season home win over the Hawkeyes.

5. HOW TO WATCH: Sunday's game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip time and can be found on Fox Sports North as well as through a radio stream on U-100.9 FM.
