MADISON, Wis. -- The Badgers (2-8, 0-2 B1G) wrap up their non-conference slate with three home games over the next two weeks. In-state rival Green Bay (4-4, 2-2 Horizon) travels to Madison on Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip at the Kohl Center. The game is streamed live on B1G+.
Wisconsin concludes its non-conference season with home games against Illinois State (Dec. 16) and Eastern Illinois (Dec. 23).
1. HIGH ROLLERS: Despite scoring a season-high points vs. No. 13 Michigan on Thursday, Wisconsin fell to the Wolverines, 93-81. Four Badgers scored in double figures in a game for the first time this season with Julie Pospisilova scoring a season-high 21 points. Krystyna Ellew (18), Sydney Hilliard (16) and Brooke Schramek (10) all scored 10-plus points. Pospisilova has now scored in double figures all eight games she has seen the court this season.
2. SEASON'S BEST: Wisconsin shot 50% (29-58) from the field against the Wolverines on Thursday, the second-time this season it has shot 50%. Over the last four games, the Badgers are hitting 43.5% (87-200) from field-goal range and 76.6% (49-64) from the free-throw line.
3. BREAKOUT BROOKE: Sophomore Brooke Schramek has scored in double figures in three out of the last four games. The guard scored a career-high 11 points at Colorado on Nov. 28 before upping that to 18 points at Northwestern on Dec. 5. She also tallied 10 points against Michigan on Thursday. Schramek is shooting 51.6% (16-31) from field-goal range over the last four contests. The new found aggressiveness has been a great addition to the Wisconsin starting lineup on both sides of the ball.
4. CASHING IN: Over the last three contests, UW has turned up its free-throw shooting, hitting 78.3% (47-60) from the charity stripe. Freshman Krystyna Ellew led the team with a perfect 10-10 from the line against Michigan in the Badger's last game. Julie Pospisilova and Sara Stapleton are both hitting 87.5% (7-8) from the line over the span as well.
5. BADGERS GIVE BACK: Throughout the months of October and November, TDS partnered with the Badgers Give Back reading program to encourage kids throughout the state to read. Many of those program participants will be in attendance at Sunday's game. TDS will present a $2,500 contribution that will be earmarked for Badgers Give Back to purchase books that will then be distributed throughout the community.
