MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team (1-0, 0-0 B1G) take its first road trip of the 2020-21 season to kick off Big Ten Conference play this Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes (2-0, 0-0). Tip time is 2 p.m. from Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. The game will be streamed live on Big Ten Network+.

The Badgers started their season 1-0 last Sunday, beating the Western Illinois Leathernecks, 73-66. Here are five things you need to know before tuning in on Saturday:

1. TOP OF THE HILL: Sophomore guard Sydney Hillard started off her season with a bang last weekend against Western Illinois. The Monroe native scored a career-high 24 points while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out four assists. Hilliard played all but two minutes in Sunday's game for Head Coach Jonathan Tsipis and will look to be an integral part of Big Ten play.

2. CRASHING THE BOARDS: Wisconsin's rebounding core played a big role in the team starting 1-0 this year. The Badgers grabbed 50 rebounds off the glass versus the Leathernecks, something they only did twice all last season. Sophomore forward Sara Stapleton led the way in rebounding against Western Illinois, totaling 11 boards and 11 points for her first career double-double. Wisconsin also had 21 offensive rebounds alone last Sunday, the highest offensive rebound number since the 2018-19 season.

3. SCORE, SCORE, SCORE: The Badgers had four players in double-digit scoring in their win versus Western Illinois, including Hillard and Stapleton as well as juniors Imani Lewis and Alex Luehring who scored 13 and 11 points, respectively. Scoring over 70 points is something Wisconsin did 11 times last season, including in a 85-78 loss to Iowa last season.

4. SCOUTING IOWA: The Hawkeyes started their season 2-0, knocking off Northern Iowa at home, 96-81, before defeating Drake on the road, 103-97, on Wednesday. Leading the way for Iowa has been newcomer Caitlin Clark. The freshman guard averages 28.5 points per game. Iowa junior Monika Czinano also made her veteran presence to start the season for the Hawkeyes, averaging 23 points per game. Beyond these two, Iowa starts three sophomores that are looking to take on larger roles as a loaded senior class left Iowa last season.
