MADISON, WIS.- The Badgers head to Lincoln for their next Big Ten matchup. The team will be taking on the Cornhuskers at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Thursday, Jan. 9.
Here are five things to know before tip-off at 7 p.m.
1.
Penn Statement: The Badgers recorded their first Big Ten win against Penn State on Jan. 4. The team is now 1-2 and has moved from 12th place into a tie for 10th place with Minnesota and Michigan State in B1G standings.
2.
Follow the Leader:Â
Imani Lewis recorded her 11th career double-double against Penn State with 23 points and 14 rebounds, her fourth consecutive. Only four other Badgers have had four or more consecutive double-doubles. The last to do it was Jessie Stomski in the 2001-02 season. Lewis is looking at climbing the career record list too. She is currently in a three-way tie at 13th place.
3.
A Few Pointers:Â
Niya Beverley recorded a career-high 19 points against Penn State, going 8-15 for FG and 1-2 from the free-throw line.
Sydney Hilliard and
Abby Laszewski also scored in double-digits, with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
4.
Cornhusker Catch-Up: Nebraska is 2-1 in B1G play (12-2 overall) and currently in a six-way tie for second place. The team claimed a win over Minnesota, and their loss comes from an overtime game against Michigan State. The final score of that game was 70-78. Leading the Cornhuskers is Leigha Brown, who is averaging 13.6 ppg. She is followed closely by Sam Haiby, averaging 11.7 ppg and Kate Cain averaging 11.1.
