Game Coverage

Thursday, Feb. 28  |  7:30 p.m.  |  Kohl Center  |  Madison, Wis.

MADISON, Wis. -- It's the final home game of the season for the Wisconsin women's basketball team. Be sure to get to the Kohl Center Thursday night to help celebrate our seniors as the Badgers (13-15, 4-12 B1G) look for redemption against Ohio State (13-12, 9-7). The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. live on the Big Ten Network.

1. LAST TIME OUT:  Freshman Imani Lewis felt right at home Monday night in Rutgers Athletic Center, but unfortunately for the Badgers, so did the host Scarlet Knights. Lewis, who grew up just an hour south of the RAC in Willingboro, New Jersey, scored a game-high 18 points, but Wisconsin fell to Rutgers, 73-53.

2. BIG TIME BLOCKING: Junior Abby Laszewski tied her career-high of four blocks for the third time this season against Rutgers. The 6-foot-3 forward has recorded 44 total blocks this season, averaging 1.6 per game. She is now ranked sixth in the Big Ten in blocks per game.

3. SENIOR NIGHT: The Badgers will recognize their three seniors - Marsha Howard, Kelly Karlis, and Lexy Richardson - Thursday night in pre-game ceremonies. Howard has played over 100 games for Wisconsin, scoring 1,050 points in her career. The 6-foot forward is only the 26th Badger to reach 1,000 points. Karlis, a transfer from Ohio, played her first season as a Badger this season. The 6-foot-2 guard started all 28 games for UW and sunk 25 3-pointers, including No. 5 play in the Sports Center Top 10 with a thrilling buzzer beater from 3-point range with only 0.7 seconds left to take the win over Nebraska, 70-69. Richardson is a former team manager who was asked to join the team as a walk on. She earned a scholarship prior to her junior season but missed this year due to a knee injury.

4. AGAINST OHIO STATE: Ohio State leads the all-time series over UW, 54-16, and the series in Madison, 20-11. OSU has won the past six meetings with the Badgers. Earlier this month, the Badgers traveled to Columbus where they nearly erased a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but fell to the Buckeyes on the road in the final seconds, 70-68. Now, OSU comes to Madison for a re-match where the Badgers are 10-5 at home this season.

5. SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES:  Last week, all five Buckeye starters scored in double figures and Ohio State handed Michigan State its first loss at home this year with a 77-70 victory Thursday night in East Lansing. OSU is on a three-game winning streak and will be coming off a bye week.
