MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's basketball team (12-13, 3-10 BIG) heads to Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday for the first of two match-ups against Ohio State (11-12, 7-7) this season. Game time is 1 p.m. CT from the Schottenstein Center.

1. LAST TIME OUT:  After jumping out to an 8-0 lead, the Badgers were nearly unstoppable, upending No. 24 Michigan State, 79-62, in the Kohl Center on Thursday night. UW defeated their first ranked team since downing No. 7 Penn State, 63-61, on Jan. 31, 2013. State would get no closer than 17 points the rest of the night as Wisconsin led by as many as 27 (70-43) with 8:09 left in the game. UW forced 16 turnovers, scoring 20 points off MSU giveaways as the Badgers tallied 10 steals. Wisconsin also took down one more board than MSU, 42-41.

2. RECORD BREAKERS: Against the Spartans, UW recorded season highs in free throws made (24), free throws attempted (31), free throw percentage (.774) and blocks (11). The Badgers rank second in the Big Ten averaging 5.3 blocks per game with 133 on the season.

3. STANDOUT PERFORMANCES: Senior Marsha Howard has 989 points in her career after scoring a game-high 28 points against MSU. She needs just 11 tallies to become the 26th Badger to record 1,000 points. Senior Kelly Karlis grabbed her second career double-double with 13 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Karlis also tied a career-high of five blocks while freshman Imani Lewis recorded a career-high four blocks on the night.

4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Ohio State leads the all-time series over UW, 53-16, and the series in Columbus, 25-5, dating back to 1978. OSU has won the past five meetings with the Badgers. The last time UW defeated OSU was in 2014, outscoring the Buckeyes, 82-71.

5. SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES: As the Badgers took down a ranked team Thursday night, so did the Buckeyes. OSU (11-12, 7-7 BIG) stopped No. 23 Rutgers on the road, defeating the Scarlet Knights, 59-39. Adreana Miller led the Buckeyes with 14 points while Dorka Juhasz grabbed a game-high 13 boards. Ohio State has won seven Big Ten games, including three games against ranked teams this season.
