Game notes vs. Ohio State

MADISON, Wis. –
 The Wisconsin women's basketball team hosts one of its final two home games on Saturday, welcoming the No. 18 Ohio State Buckeyes to the Kohl Center at 12 p.m. The game will be aired live on the Big Ten Network and as always, fan can follow live updates on Twitter (@BadgerWBB) or live statistics on UWBadgers.com. In addition, Jon Arias will have the call on 100.9 FM or online with the iHeartRadio app.

1. PLAY4KAY: Saturday's game will be the annual Play4Kay Think Pink Game. Support the fight against breast cancer with the annual breast cancer awareness game. All tickets are only $1 when purchased in advance or at the gate. All UW students will receive free admission to the game when claiming a ticket in advance. Students will also receive free pizza and refreshments at the game outside Section 115 on the concourse.

Enjoy a halftime performance by the Magic of JP Wilson. You can also show your spirit and get your face painted by our friends at Funny Faces Entertainment at the game.

2. LAST TIME OUT: Despite holding Minnesota to its third-lowest point total of the season, the Wisconsin women's basketball fell to the Golden Gophers, 71-61, on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center. In a rematch between the border rivals, Wisconsin (9-15 overall, 2-9 Big Ten) was looking to avenge a 25-point loss (90-65) at Minnesota on Jan. 18. The Golden Gophers (17-5, 6-3) entered the game as one of the top scoring teams in the conference, averaging more than 85 points per game.

3. FULL COURT: Sophomore Courtney Fredrickson recorded her fifth career double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. She tied her career high in scoring while her rebound total was a new career high. It marked her 14th outing with 10-or-more points this season and her sixth time leading the Badgers in rebounds.

4. SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES: Ohio State is ranked No. 18 in the country and holds an 18-5 record and is 7-3 in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes are led by All-American Kelsey Mitchell, who is averaging an impressive 24.9 points per game. Mitchell moved into fourth place on the NCAA career scoring list on Wednesday night against Penn State. She now has 3,125 career points and passed Jerica Coley (3,107), Lorri Bauman (3,115) and Patricia Hoskins (3,122) in the game.

5. HEART OF A LION: Sophomore Suzanne Gilreath was featured as the cover story in the latest issue of Varsity Magazine. "Standing only 5-foot-4, Wisconsin guard Suzanne Gilreath is growing into a playmaker for the Badgers and a respected leader thanks to her speed, skill and positive mindset."
