Game notes vs. Penn State

MADISON, Wis. –
 Wisconsin (7-11, 0-5) returns home on Sunday to host Penn State (10-8, 1-4) at 1 p.m. in the Kohl Center.

The Badgers' game against Penn State will be on the Big Ten Network. Fans in the Madison area can listen to the game live on 100.9 FM or online using the iHeart Radio App where Jon Arias will have the call.

1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers dropped to 0-5 in the Big Ten, falling at Northwestern, 69-60, on Thursday. Wisconsin played three ranked teams in the first four conference games. Wisconsin dropped its first game of the season when leading at the half. UW was up 30-25 at the break, falling to 6-1 on the season when leading at halftime.

2. MCMORRIS HITS 900: Senior Cayla McMorris returned to the Badger starting lineup at Northwestern, marking her first start since Dec. 10 vs. Savannah State. The 6-0 guard scored 13 points against the Wildcats to go over 900 points for her career.

3. SUZANNE IS OUR QUEEN: Sophomore Suzanne Gilreath tied a school record by going 5-of-5 from 3-point range at Northwestern. The 5-4 guard tied a mark set by Alyssa Karel in 2010 and equaled by Nicole Bauman in 2015. Gilreath's five 3-pointers also tied her career best.

4. SCOUTING THE LADY LIONS: Penn State is 10-8 on the season and 1-4 in conference play. The Lady Lions' only conference win was a 77-74 victory over Indiana on Jan. 3. Teniya Page is the team's lead with an average of 17.0 points per game, but teammate Amari Carter is close behind with 15.2 points per game.

5. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Penn State leads the all-time series 30-14 but UW leads the overall series in Madison, 11-9. The Badgers have held the advantage in recent years, taking four of the last six contests against PSU, including an 82-62 win in 2016 which was the last time the two foes played in Madison.
