MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team is off to its hottest start since 2013 with a 5-3 record and heads to face No. 23 Marquette in Milwaukee on Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center.

1. LOOKING BACK: On Saturday, UW defeated La Salle 71-60 at the Kohl Center for its third-straight win. Senior Cayla McMorris recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. McMorris has shown incredible offensive consistency scoring in double digits during seven of the last eight games.
2. DOUBLE TROUBLE: Wisconsin women's basketball has a two-headed monster in their lineup, wreaking havoc to opposing teams in the hoop and boards. UW junior forward Marsha Howard had her second straight double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds over the Explorers. Howard had a monster night the previous game against Pitt with a team high 15 points and a whopping 15 rebounds. Aided by Senior teammate, Cayla McMorris, who had a double-double in the La Salle victory. Against Pitt, McMorris grabbed nine rebounds and scored 12 points. The duo looks to maintain their consistently against the Golden Eagles.
3. A GREAT EXPLORATION: The Badgers had a season-best 30 made field goals against the Explorers on Saturday and also set a new season high with 65 field goal attempts. They also held La Salle to .305 field goal percentage, marking an opponent season low for Wisconsin.
4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Wisconsin leads the all-time series with Marquette, 13-11, including a 5-5Â mark in Milwaukee. The Badgers lost a close one to the Golden Eagles in 2016, falling 81-75 at the Kohl Center. Both Cayla McMorris and Marsha Howard had a monster game, each going over the 20-plus point mark.
5. SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: No. 23 Marquette was unable to recover from its slow start and fell to host Green Bay, 63-55, in front of a raucous crowd at the Kress Center on Saturday. The Golden Eagles (3-3) finished with three players in double-figures, led by Amani Wilborn, who notched 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Danielle King added 16 points, while Natisha Hiedeman scored all 10 of her points in the second half. Don't be fooled by a 3-3 record, Marquette is off to a strong start on the season, taking losses to Green Bay, Tennessee and New Mexico. The Golden Eagles took the 12th-ranked Lady Vols to overtime but lost a tight 101-99 game. Marquette also lost its season opener to New Mexico, who is now receiving votes in both polls, 88-87. Six Golden Eagles are averaging 10-or-more points a game, led by Allazia Blockton with 17.2 points per contest.
BONUS: Wisconsin's Director of Operations Michelle Nason served as an assistant coach at Marquette University from 1995-2014. She served as the associate head coach/recruiting coordinator from 2012-14, signing an NCAA Top 30 recruiting class in 2014. While at Marquette, Nason recruited and coached four first-team All-Big East performers, including the 2014 Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year and two WNBA draft picks. Nason helped guide the Golden Eagles to 15 post-season appearances, including seven NCAA tournament bids and the 2008 WNIT National Championship.
