Game Notes vs. Purdue
MADISON, Wis. – It may be the end of 2017 but it's the start of a new season for the Wisconsin women's basketball team (7-7 overall, 0-1 Big Ten) when it heads to its first Big Ten Conference road trip of the season on Sunday at Purdue. UW and Purdue are set to tip off at 1 p.m. CT at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana.

1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin fell in its conference opener to No. 23 Iowa, 56-46 after staging a large comeback after a tough first quarter where UW fell behind 19-5. The Badgers held the Hawkeyes to their lowest point total and lowest field goal percentage of the season . Three Badgers scored in double digits with Suzanne Gilreath leading the team with 11 points while Marsha Howard and Courtney Fredrickson were not far behind with 10 apiece.
2. ON THE ROAD: UW is 1-3 on the road this season, with the lone road victory at Pittsburgh, 58-57, on Nov. 29 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Badgers have dropped four of their last five conference road openers, last picking up a win in 2014 with a 76-74 overtime thriller victory at Illinois.
3. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Purdue leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 49-18, including 27-4 in West Lafayette. UW lost its only matchup with Purdue last season, 79-57. The Badgers split the action in 2016, dropping one contest 68-48 but also winning one, 64-57.
4. HERE'S WHAT IT BOILS DOWN TO: Purdue is 9-6 on the season and holds a 6-2 mark at home. The Boilermakers started the conference season 0-1 after dropping a tight 58- 50 contest to Rutgers. The game saw six ties and 11 lead changes. The Boilermakers are led by senior Andreonna Keys, who averages 13.1 points per game while ranking second on the team with 5.1 boards per game.
5. HOW BOUT HOWARD?: Following the Badgers' conference opener where junior Marsha Howard had 10 points, she now has been in double digits in eight games this season. She is averaging 11.5 points per game and has 161 total points this season. She just recently passed 400 career points against Savannah State on Dec. 10 and now has 425 career points. The team's leader in rebounds this season, Howard is just two boards away from reaching the 300-rebound mark in her career.
BONUS – FUN FACTS: The last time Wisconsin had three players with double-doubles in the same game was when Barb Franke, Ann Klapperich and Keisha Anderson had the feat against Purdue in 1996. Additionally, the last time the Badgers had a player record more than five blocks was when Cassie Rochel had seven against Purdue in the 2015 Big Ten Tournament.
