BADGERS WRAP UP FIRST HALF OF B1G SEASON
Wisconsin (6-12, 2-6 Big Ten) wraps up the first half of the Big Ten Conference season on the road. The Badgers travel to Nebraska (14-5, 5-3) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game from Pinnacle Bank Arena.
      The Badgers return home on Sunday to host their annual Pink Game. UW takes on Michigan State at 3 p.m. in the Kohl Center. Tickets are only $1 for the game.

- Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with 11.6 turnovers per game in conference-only games. UW has 10-or-fewer turnovers in five of the last nine games.Â

Senior Nicole Bauman was 7-of-8 (87.5 percent) from deep against Minnesota.Â
- Last week, Bauman recorded back-to-back 20-plus point games for the first time this season. She scored 22 points against No. 5 Maryland on Jan. 20 before tallying a season-high 25 points against Minnesota on Saturday. The 5-10 guard averaged 23.5 points per game on the week.
- Redshirt junior Avyanna Young has led the Badgers in rebounds in three of the last four games, averaging 8.0 rebounds per game over the stretch. The 6-1 forward has upped her season average to 6.4 boards per game, taking over the team lead and tying for 11th in the Big Ten.
- Wisconsin has struggled on the boards in Big Ten games, getting outrebounded 39.5 - 33.4 (-6.1) over the stretch. The Badgers recorded a Big Ten-season high 42 rebounds against Minnesota on Saturday.

PROTECTING THE BALL
Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with 11.6 turnovers per game in conference-only games.
    UW tied a season low with just nine giveaways against Penn State on Jan. 10. The Badgers also had nine turnovers against Northern Illinois on Dec. 16 and against Indiana on Dec. 31. The Badgers had 10 giveaways against Iowa on Jan. 13 and 10 turnovers against Maryland on Jan. 20. UW has had 10-or-fewer turnovers in five of the last nine games. Wisconsin turned the ball 15 times against Minnesota on Saturday, a Big Ten season high for UW.
   In all games, the Badgers rank eighth in the Big Ten with 14.7 turnovers per game.
    Foes are taking advantage of Badger turnovers, averaging 17.2 points per game, compared to 12.8 points per game for UW. In Big Ten games, Wisconsin is giving up 13.5 points per game off turnovers while scoring 12.6 off opponent giveaways.
HITTING FROM THE LINE
The Badgers' five-game streak of taking and making more free throws that its opponents came to an end against Minnesota on Saturday. The Golden Gophers (12-of-16) made one more free throw than Wisconsin (11-of-16).
    Over the last six games, Wisconsin has made more free throws that is opponent has taken. UW is 57-of-75 (.760) from the line while foes are just 35-of-55 (.636) over the six-game stretch.
    UW tied a season high makes from the charity stripe at Illinois on Jan. 17, going 18-of-23 (.783). Â
    The Badgers shot 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line against Iowa on Jan. 13, their second-highest shooting percentage of the season. UW shot a season-high 1.000 (9-of-9) from the line at Rutgers on Jan. 7.
    Wisconsin ranks fifth in the Big Ten in conference-only games, shooting 73.7 percent from the charity stripe.
    On the season, UW shoots 69 percent from the free-throw line, which ranks 12th in the Big Ten. Senior Nicole Bauman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in free-throw percentage at .872 (41-of-47). In Big Ten-only games, she shoots 93.8 percent (15-of-16), missing her first free throw of the conference season at Illinois on Jan. 17.
BACK ON TRACK FROM 3-POINT RANGE
After three games struggling from 3-point range, the Badgers got back on track against Minnesota on Saturday. Wisconsin shot 10-of-23 (43.5 percent) from deep against the Golden Gophers, marking the third time this season with double-figure triples.
In the previous three games, Wisconsin struggled from 3-point range, hitting just 25.5 percent (13-of-51) from behind the arc. Against Iowa on Jan. 13, Wisconsin connected on 22.2 percent (4-of-18). UW hit 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from deep at Illinois on Jan. 17 and 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from behind the arc against Maryland on Jan. 20.
    Wisconsin ranks 15th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten with a 3-point shooting percentage of 36.9 (109-of-295). In conference-only games, UW ranks fourth, shooting 37.5 percent (48-of-128) from deep.
    The Badgers tied a school record by making 12 3-pointers against Penn State on Jan. 10, marking the fourth game in program history with 12 triples. UW shot a season and Big Ten-best 75 percent (9-of-12) from deep against Northern Illinois on Dec. 16, which would rank second on the Badger single-game record list. Wisconsin also shot 66.7 percent (12-of-18) against Penn State on Jan. 10, which would tie for fifth on UW's record list.
    Senior Nicole Bauman was 7-of-8 (87.5 percent) from deep against Minnesota, setting a personal and team season high. Her percentage would rank seventh on the UW single-game record list. Bauman tied a school record against Northern Illinois on Dec. 16, going 5-of-5 from deep. Bauman ties for fourth in the Big Ten with 2.8 triples per game, shooting 41.8 percent (51-of-122), which ranks sixth. In Big Ten-only games, Bauman ranks fourth in 3-point percentage at .480 (24-of-50) and fourth in triples per game at 3.0. Redshirt freshman Roichelle Marble ranks 11th in 3-point percentage at 400 (8-of-20).
BAUMAN HAS BACK-TO-BACK 20-PLUS POINT GAMES
Senior Nicole Bauman recorded back-to-back 20-plus point games for the first time this season. She scored a season-high 25 points against the Golden Gophers on Saturday and added 22 points against Maryland on Jan. 20 to average 23.5 points per game on the week. Bauman shot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) from the field on the week, including 68.8 percent from 3-point range. Bauman hit a season-high 7-of-8 from deep against Minnesota while tying her career best with three blocks. On the week, she added 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2-0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.
    Bauman has led UW in scoring the last four games, averaging 20 points per game over the stretch. She has upped her career total to 1,078 points, which ranks 21st at Wisconsin. The senior went over 1,000 career points with her first bucket of the game against Iowa on Jan. 13. The 5-10 guard scored a lay up with 6:14 to play in the first quarter to put the Badgers up 10-8.
    The New Berlin, Wisconsin, native has led the team in scoring 12 games this season and has scored in double digits in a team-best 15 contests. Bauman ranks 17th in the Big Ten with 16.2 points per game. She also leads the Badgers in steals with 28 (1.6/game) and ranks second with 66 assists (3.7/game).
The 5-10 guard also has 19 blocks this season (1.1/game), which ranks second on the team and ties for 12th in the Big Ten, setting a season-best total.
    Bauman played in her 100th game in the Cardinal and White at Illinois on Jan. 17.Â
WHYTE OUT
After scoring just eight points at Illinois on Jan. 17, ending a 10-game double-figure scoring streak, senior Dakota Whyte scored 11 points against Maryland on Jan. 20. She also added 11 points against Minnesota on Saturday. The 5-8 guard also had two steals against the Terrapins to go over 100 takeaways for her career. Whyte has 102 steals in her fourth season. She played in 100th career game in the Cardinal and White against Iowa on Jan. 13.
    Whyte scored a career-high 23 points against Penn State on Jan. 10, shooting 9-of-13 (69.2 percent) from the field, including 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) from 3-point range. She made her first five triples.
    The Toronto, Ontario, native ranks second on the team this season with a career-best 12.8 points per game, leading the team in scoring in four games. She leads the Badgers with 3.9 assists per game and ranks second with 1.2 steals per game. Whyte has led UW in dimes in nine games and in steals in five contests. Whyte is shooting a career best 34.8 percent (16-of-46) from 3-point range, needing only one more triple to tie her junior season total. She is also shooting a career-best 73.7 percent (56-of-76) from the free throw line and has a season-best six blocks.
YOUNG BOARDS
Junior Avyanna Young has led the Badgers in rebounds in three of the last four games and six games on the year. The 6-1 forward had a season-high 13 rebounds against Minnesota on Saturday, including eight offensive boards. It marked Young's third double-figure rebounding game of the season.
    Young is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game over the last four contests to up her season average to 6.4 boards per game, taking over the team lead and tying for 11th in the Big Ten. In Big Ten games, she averages a team-best 7.3 rebounds per game, which ranks 11th.
    Young scored 14 points, just one short of her season high, against Maryland on Jan. 20, tying her season best by shooting 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the field. Â
On the year, she ranks fifth on the team with 7.8 points per game.Â
BENCH STRUGGLES
Over the last four games, the Badger bench has struggled to score, averaging just 8.0 points per game while opponents' benches are averaging 21.0 points per game.
    Wisconsin had just two points from its reserves against Iowa on Jan. 13, seven points at Illinois on Jan. 17, and eight points against Maryland on Jan. 20. UW's reserves improved against Minnesota on Saturday, scoring 15 points. Iowa's bench outscored Wisconsin 12-2, the Illini's reserves outscored UW 9-7, the Terrapins finished with a 41-8 advantage off the bench and Minnesota outscored the Badgers 22-15.
    Senior Tessa Cichy has come off the bench the last four games to 4.3 points per game. The 6-0 guard is still finding her game role after missing four games and nearly a month of court time due to illness. Redshirt freshman Roichelle Marble adds 1.8 points per game while senior Rosie Gambino chips in 1.3 points per game and freshman Marsha Howard adds 1.0 points per game off the bench the last four contests.
    On the year, opponents are outscoring Wisconsin's bench 20.9 - 11.1.
B1G REBOUND PROBLEMS
Wisconsin has struggled in rebounding in Big Ten games, getting outboarded 39.5 - 33.4 (-6.1) over the stretch.
    UW recorded a Big Ten-season high 42 rebounds against Minnesota on Saturday, just its fifth game this season with 40-plus boards. The Badgers have yet to outrebound a Big Ten opponent and have outboarded only four opponents on the season.
    Opponents are outscoring the Badgers 13.7 - 9.6 on second-chance points on the season and 15.0 - 11.4 in Big Ten games.
BADGERS IN THE BIG TEN
Senior Nicole Bauman leads the team and ties for 17th in the Big Ten with 16.2 points per game. She has double-figure points in 15 of 18 games this season. Bauman also ranks fifth in free-throw percentage (87.2), tied for fourth in 3-pointers made (2.8), sixth in 3-point percentage (.418), ties for 10th in minutes played (34.9), ties for 11th in assists per game (3.7), ties for 12th in blocks per game (1.1) and ties for 14th in steals per game (1.6).
    Senior Dakota Whyte ranks 29th in points per game (12.7) and ninth in assists per game (3.9). She is averaging season bests in both categories. Â

UW CAREER LIST UPDATES
Senior Nicole Bauman moved into third on the UW career record list for 3-pointers made, highlighting this week's record movers.
- Senior Michala Johnson is shooting 53.3 percent (317-of-595) from the field for her Badger career, which would go down in the UW record books as the No. 1 best shooting percentage. The current mark is 53.1 percent set by Barb Franke (1991-96).
- Senior Nicole Bauman moved into third on the UW career record list with 211 made 3-pointers. She needs 23 more triples to move into second, currently held by Katie Voigt (1993-98) with 234 treys. Bauman continues to lead the Badger career list in 3-point percentage at .418 (211-of-507). She also ranks seventh in career 3-point attempts with 507 and needs 16 attempts to move into seventh, a position currently held by Kyle Black (1998-2002) with 523 attempts.
I GOT THAT
Two Badgers picked up career milestones last week against Iowa and Illinois.
- Senior Tessa Cichy scored eight points against Minnesota on Saturday to hit 500 career points on the nose.
- Senior Dakota Whyte had two steals against Maryland on Wednesday to go over 100 career takeaways. She has 102 career steals.Â
COUNTING DOWN
Three Badgers are counting down to career milestones.
- Senior Nicole Bauman needs seven steals for 100 takeaways in her career.
Senior Tessa Cichy will play in her 100th game in two contests. She also needs just two rebounds for 300 career boards.
Senior Dakota Whyte will reach 800 career points with 13 scores.
KELSICK TRANSFERS TO WISCONSINAshley Kelsick, a 5-7 guard, has joined the Badgers after transferring from Boston College at the semester break. A native of Palmdale, California, Kelsick will have two-and-a-half years of eligibility after sitting out a year.
    Kelsick played 30 games in 2014-15 for the Eagles, starting 24. She was named the team's defensive player of the year. The point guard averaged 26.5 minutes per game, leading all BC rookies in scoring (8.4 points per game), rebounds (4.0), assists (2.1) and steals (1.4). She scored in double figures in 15 games, including a career high of 19 points.
    Kelsick played her prep career at Highland High School. She led the nation in scoring as a junior, averaging 40.7 points per game. The 2013 Golden League most valuable player, Kelsick aided Highland to the 2012-13 Golden League championship with a 14-0 mark. She finished her career with 1,467 points. Â
