BADGERS RETURN HOME TO FACE TWO TOP TEAMS
Wisconsin (6-10, 2-4 Big Ten) returns home for two straight games in the Kohl Center.
    The Badgers host No. 5 Maryland (16-2, 5-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Minnesota (11-6, 3-3) in a Border Battle on Saturday at 11 a.m.Â

PROTECTING THE BALL
Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with 11.3 turnovers per game in conference-only games.
    UW tied a season low with just nine giveaways against Penn State on Jan. 10. The Badgers also had nine turnovers against Northern Illinois on Dec. 16 and against Indiana on Dec. 31.
    The Badgers had just 10 giveaways against Iowa on Jan. 13, marking the fourth time in the last seven games that Wisconsin has had 10-or-fewer turnovers. Â
On the season, the Badgers rank ninth in the Big Ten with 15.0 turnovers per game.
    Foes are taking advantage of Badger turnovers, averaging 17.6 points per game, compared to 13.3 points per game for UW. Â
    In Big Ten games, Wisconsin is averaging 13.8 points per game off turnovers while giving up 13.3 points per game.
HITTING FROM THE LINE
Over the last four games, the Badgers have taken and made more free throws than their opponents. Wisconsin is 39-of-49 (.796) from the line. Opponents are just 19-of-33 (.576) over the four-game stretch.
    UW tied a season high makes from the charity stripe at Illinois on Sunday, going 18-of-23 (.783). Â
    The Badgers shot 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line against Iowa on Jan. 13, their second-highest shooting percentage of the season. UW shot a season-high 1.000 (9-of-9) from the line at Rutgers on Jan. 7.
    Wisconsin ranks second in the Big Ten in conference-only games, shooting 75 percent from the charity stripe.
    On the season, UW shoots 68.9 percent from the free-throw line, which ranks 10th in the Big Ten.
    Senior Nicole Bauman ranks 24th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in free-throw percentage at .872 (41-of-47). In Big Ten-only games, she ranks second at 93.8 percent (15-of-16), missing her first free throw at Illinois on Sunday.Â
JOHNSON FINDS HER TOUCH
Senior Michala Johnson is finding her scoring touch, tallying double figures in the last four games in a row. She is averaging 11.3 points per game over the stretch, upping her season averaging to 10.4 points per game.
    Johnson ranks third on the team with 10.4 points per game while leading the Badges with 6.4 rebounds per game. The 6-3 forward has led the Badgers in rebounds in six games, recording six-plus boards in 10 games, including the last three in a row. She has a season-high nine rebounds in two contests.
    She has scored in double figures in 11 games this season.
UP AND DOWN FROM 3-POINT RANGE
The Badgers have struggled from 3-point range the last two games, hitting just 24.3 percent (9-of-37) from behind the arc. Wisconsin struggled against Iowa on Jan. 13, connecting on just 22.2 percent (4-of-18) while it hit 16.3 percent (5-of-19) from deep at Illinois on Sunday.
    Only three UW players have hit triples over the last two contests—Nicole Bauman (5-of-13), Dakota Whyte (2-of-9) and Cayla McMorris (2-of-9). Â
    Wisconsin ranks 21st nationally with a 3-point shooting percentage of .368 (95-of-258). The poor shooting has dropped Wisconsin from first to fifth in the Big Ten in conference-only games, shooting 37.4 percent (34-of-91) from deep. On the year, UW is shooting 36.8 percent (95-of-258), ranking fourth in the league.
     The Badgers tied a school record by making 12 3-pointers against Penn State on Jan. 10, marking the fourth game in program history with 12 triples. Wisconsin did that twice during the 2015 Big Ten season—vs. Northwestern (Feb. 22) and vs. Ohio State (Jan. 29).
    UW shot a season and Big Ten-best 75 percent (9-of-12) from deep against Northern Illinois on Dec. 16, which would rank second on the Badger single-game record list. Sunday's 66.7 percent would tie for fifth.
    Senior Nicole Bauman ranks sixth in the Big Ten with 2.5 triples per game. In Big Ten-only games, she ranks ninth with 2.2 per game.
    Senior Dakota Whyte ties for eighth in the conference in league-only game at 40 percent (8-of-20) from deep while Bauman is 14th at 38.2 percent (13-of-34)..
BAUMAN HITS 1,000 POINTS
Senior Nicole Bauman went over 1,000 points for her career with her first bucket of the game against Iowa on Wednesday. The 5-10 guard scored a lay up with 6:14 to play in the first quarter to put the Badgers up 10-8.
    The 5-10 guard has led Wisconsin in scoring the last two games to up her career total to 1,031 points, which ranks 23rd at UW.
    The New Berlin, Wisconsin, native has led the team in scoring 10 games and has scored in double digits in a team-best 13 contests.
    The 5-10 guard also has 15 blocks this season (0.9/game), which ranks second on the team. She equaled her season best of 15 blocks set as a freshman.
    Bauman played in her 100th game in the Cardinal and White at Illinois on Sunday.
WHYTE OUT
Senior Dakota Whyte's team-best 10-game double-figure scoring streak came to an end at Illinois on Sunday as the guard scored just eight points.
    Whyte played in 100th career game in the Cardinal and White against Iowa on Jan. 13.
    Whyte scored a career-high 23 points against Penn State on Jan. 10, shooting 9-of-13 (69.2 percent) from the field, including 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) from 3-point range. The 5-8 guard made her first five triples.
    The Toronto, Ontario, native ranks second on the team this season with a career-best 12.9 points per game. She also leads the Badgers with 3.9 assists per game and ranks second with 1.2 steals per game.
    Whyte is shooting a career best 36.6 percent (15-of-41) from 3-point range, needing only two more triples to tie her junior season total. She is also shooting a career-best 74.3 percent (55-of-74) from the free throw line.
BALANCED SCORING
The Badgers had four players score in double figures against Iowa on Jan. 13, marking the eighth time this season with four-or-more double-figure scorers in a game. Wisconsin is 4-4 with four-or-more players scoring 10-plus points this season.
    Senior Dakota Whyte scored in double figures in 10 straight games, a team best streak for the season. Whyte ranks second on the team with 13.3 points per game, tallying 10-plus points in 12 games this season. In conference-only games, the 5-8 guard ranks 22nd in the Big Ten with 15 points per game. She as been the Badgers scoring leader in four games, assist leader in eight games and steals leader in four games.
    Seven Badgers have scored in double figures in at least three games this season.
    Senior Nicole Bauman has scored in double figures the last three games in a row. She led the team with 16 points against Iowa on Jan. 13, picking up her 1,000th career point. Bauman tallied 24 points at San Diego State on Nov. 29 and equaled that against Indiana on Dec. 31. Last season, she notched seven 20-plus scoring games and had a career-best streak of three 20-plus scoring games. Bauman has scored in double digits in 13 of 16 games this season, averaging a team-best 15.3 points per game. In 2014-15, she had a team-high 23 games in double figures. The senior has led the Badgers in scoring and assists in a team-best nine games.
    Senior Michala Johnson ranks third on the team with 10-or-more points in 11 games. She averages 10.3 points per game this season for third on the squad. The 6-3 forward has scored in double figures in the last four games.
    Sophomore Cayla McMorris has scored in double figures in seven games, ranking fourth on the team with 8.8 points per game. McMorris scored 16 points at Illinois on Sunday, just one short of her career best. The 6-0 guard was 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the field and added our rebounds, including three offensive boards.Â
BENCH STRUGGLES
Over the last two games, the Badger bench has struggled to score, averaging just 4.5 points per game.
    Wisconsin had just two points from its reserves against Iowa on Jan. 13 and seven points at Illinois on Sunday. Iowa's bench outscored Wisconsin 12-2 while the Illini's reserves outscored UW 9-7. Â
    Senior Tessa Cichy has come off the bench the last two games to score five points at Illinois. Redshirt senior Rosie Gambino added two points against the Illini while freshman Marsha Howard scored the two points against Iowa.
    On the year, opponents are outscoring Wisconsin's bench 19.6 - 11.1.
SCORING SEE SAW
After tallying a season-low 41 points at Rutgers on Jan. 7, Wisconsin doubled that by scoring 82 points against Penn State on Jan. 10. It was just the second 80-plus point game of the season, trailing a season-high 89 points vs. Northern Illinois on Dec. 16.
    The Badgers led the Lady Lions 40-29 (+11) at the half, tying UW's season highest lead at the break.
    Wisconsin struggled to score against Iowa on Jan. 13, putting up 54 points in the game, its second lowest total of the season.
    UW improved at Illinois on Sunday, scoring 65 points.
    UW ranks 13th in the Big Ten in scoring offense, averaging 65.8 points per game, and 14th in conference-only games with 63.7 points.
REBOUND PROBLEMS
Wisconsin has struggled in rebounding in Big Ten games, getting outboarded 38.2 - 32.3 over the stretch.
    The Badgers were outrebounded by Iowa 36-28 on Jan. 13, including 10-7 on offensive boards. The Hawkeyes scored 11 second-chance points. Illinois outrebounded Wisconsin 37-35 with the Illini scoring 13 second-chance points.
    Opponents are outscoring the Badgers 12.8 - 9.1 on second-chance points on the season.
CICHY'S BACK!
Senior Tessa Cichy returned to the court against Iowa on Jan. 13 after missing four games with an illness. The 6-0 guard had not played since Dec. 16, 2015, vs. Northern Illinois. In her return, Cichy came off the bench to play 14 minutes, recording one rebound and one assist.
    She also played at Illinois on Sunday, coming off the bench to score five points on 5-of-6 shooting from the free throw line while adding three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
    The 6-0 guard had started the first nine games of the season before getting ill.
YOUNG ON THE BOARDS
Junior Avyanna Young has led the Badgers in rebounds the last two games. The 6-1 forward grabbed seven boards against Iowa on Jan. 13 and pulled down eight rebounds at Illinois on Sunday.
    She also scored 12 points against the Hawkeyes, coming up three points shy of her season high. Young tied her best shooting percentage of the season at 66.7, shooting 6-of-9 from the field.
    The forward has led the Badgers in rebounding in five games, pulling down a season-high 12 rebounds at Wake Forest on Dec. 2. She has double-figure rebounds in two games, adding 11 boards at Rutgers on Jan. 7. Young ranks second on the team and tied for 14th in the Big Ten with 6.2 boards per game.
BADGERS IN THE BIG TEN
Senior Nicole Bauman leads the team and ranks 19th in the Big Ten with 15.3 points per game. She has double-figure points in 13 of 16 games this season. Bauman also ranks fourth in free-throw percentage (87.2), sixth in 3-pointers made (2.5), and tied for 15th in steals per game (1.6).
    Senior Dakota Whyte ranks 28th in points per game (12.9) and tied for ninth in assists per game (3.9). She is averaging a season-best helpers. Â
    Redshirt senior Michala Johnson ranks 13th in the Big Ten with 6.4 rebounds per game and 10th in blocks per game (1.3).

UW CAREER LIST UPDATES
- Senior Michala Johnson is shooting 53.5 percent (309-of-578) from the field for her Badger career, which would go down in the UW record books as the No. 1 best shooting percentage. The current mark is 53.1 percent set by Barb Franke (1991-96).
- Senior Nicole Bauman ranks fourth on the UW career record list with 200 made 3-pointers. She needs six more triples to move into third, currently held by Taylor Wurtz (2009-14) with 206 treys.
- Bauman continues to lead the Badger career list in 3-point percentage at .407 (200-of-491).
- She moved into seventh after the Iowa game in career 3-point attempts with 491 and needs 32 attempts to move into seventh, a position currently held by Kyle Black (1998-2002) with 523 attempts.
I GOT THAT
Three Badgers picked up career milestones last week against Iowa and Illinois.
- Senior Nicole Bauman picked up her 1,000 career point against Iowa on Jan. 13. She became the 24th Badger to record 1,000 points in a career. The guard has 1,031 points in her fourth season. Bauman played in 100th career game at Illinois on Sunday and also picked up 50th career block.
- Senior Michala Johnson went over 800 career points at Illinois on Sunday. The 6-34 forward has 802 points in her career.
- Senior Dakota Whyte played in her 100th career game against the Hawkeyes.
