SEATTLE -- Wisconsin’s hot first half shooting fell flat in the second stanza, as the Badgers dropped an 80-67 decision to the University of Washington in Alaska Airlines Arena Friday night.
The Badgers were 14-of-28 (50 percent) in the first 20 minutes of action before their shooting turned cold in the second. Wisconsin (6-4) opened the second stanza 1-of-13 over the first seven minutes and Washington (3-3) took advantage, extending its lead to 55-41 in that span.
Wisconsin was never able to close the gap and Washington held on to a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

The Huskies shot 56.7 percent (17-of-30) in the second half, while Wisconsin was 10-of-31 (32.3 percent). The Badgers finished the second half just 1-of-11 (9.1 percent) from 3-point range.
Wisconsin opened play with three consecutive field goals to jump out to an early 7-4 lead over the Huskies. The teams battled back and forth as the first half saw nine lead changes and six tied scores. The Badgers held on to a slim 37-36 lead entering halftime.
Michala Johnson finished the night with a game-high 25 points and Taylor Wurtz posted 11. Morgan Paige finished with nine points, becoming the 23rd Badgers to reach the 1,000 point mark.
Washington was led by Aminah William’s 19 points and 12 rebounds. Mercedes Wetmore, Talia Walton and Kelsey Plum also scored in double figures.
The Badgers finished the night 24-of-49 (40.7 percent) from the floor, while the Huskies wrapped up play 32-of-61 (52.5 percent)
Wisconsin was narrowly edged on the boards as the Huskies pulled down 33 boards to the Badgers 32. Both teams recorded 12 assists and Wisconsin committed 12 turnovers. Washington finished the night with 10 steals.
