BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Despite a late comeback by Wisconsin, the Badgers weren't able to overcome 23 turnovers in a down to the wire loss against Indiana, 62-60, on Thursday night at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.

Indiana (6-22 overall, 1-14 Big Ten) scored 26 points off of Wisconsin (8-19 overall, 4-11 Big Ten) turnovers for its first Big Ten Conference win.

 Fast Facts
• Wurtz and Covington tallied a double-double- first time since Feb. 3, 2008 that two Badgers have done so in the same game
• Badgers outrebounded Hoosiers 41-33
• Senior Day at the Kohl Center on Sunday, Feb. 26 against Illinois

The game came down to free throws, as Indiana took the lead late with two after a foul by Morgan Paige. Anya Covington made her two free throws after an offensive rebound to tie the game at 60-60 with 1:25 to play.

The Badgers had a chance to take the lead after Indiana missed a shot with 58 seconds left, but a jumper by Tiera Stephen was off the mark. Indiana slowed it down, looking to take the last shot of the game. Alisha Goodwin missed a layup with four seconds left, but a foul committed by Paige on an offensive rebound by Danlisa Andujar put Andujar on the line with 3.2 seconds left.

Andujar sank both free throws, putting Indiana up 62-60. The Badgers got the ball to half court and Stephen put up a prayer that missed the rim at the buzzer.

"We didn't come out ready to play and they took advantage of that," head coach Bobbie Kelsey said. "It's just disheartening because with four (straight) losses we should be ready to play, but apparently not."

The Hoosiers started off strong with a 10-0 run early in the first half. After a timeout by Wisconsin, the Badgers were able to stop the run with a layup from Paige to make the score 10-4 with 14:46 left in the first half.

The Hoosiers held UW's leading scorer Taylor Wurtz scoreless through the first 11 minutes of the game, but a 3-pointer with 7:30 left in the first half got the Badgers within nine, 12-21. Another three from Wurtz and one from Jade Davis brought the score to 26-20 with 4:20 left in the half.

Wisconsin went on a 6-0 run to end the first half, with a layup from Ashely Thomas with 46 seconds left to get the Badgers within four points, 33-29.

The Badgers shot 33 percent from the field in the first half, while the Hoosiers shot 43 percent and recorded 18 points off of Badger turnovers. Leading the Badgers at the half were Wurtz with 11 points and Davis with nine.

Wisconsin kept its momentum going in the start of the second half, recording a 5-0 run. With a layup from Paige with 18:52 to go in the game, the Badgers had their first lead, 34-33, since being ahead 2-0 at the beginning of the night.

The Badgers went up 44-41 with a jumper from Wurtz with 13:30 left, but the lead soon went back to the Hoosiers.  With shots from Aulani Sinclair and Andujar, Indiana was up 52-46 with 9:10 left in the game.

Wisconsin was able to rally back to stay within at least three points for the rest of the half, shooting 40 percent from the field. Cassie Rochel tied it up at 58-58 with two minutes to play with a layup and free throw off the foul, setting the stage for the dramatic final minutes.

Both Wurtz and Covington tallied a double-double on the night which marks the first time since Feb. 3, 2008 that two Badgers have done so in the same game. Wurtz recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds and Covington had 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Badgers outrebounded the Hoosiers 41-33, grabbing 18 on the offensive end.

The Badgers host Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. for their last home game of the season. Wisconsin will be honoring the team's three seniors: Covington, Davis and Thomas.
