LINCOLN, Neb. - A late 22-4 run wasn't enough as the Wisconsin women's basketball team dropped a 68-59 decision to No. 16 Nebraska on Sunday afternoon at the Devaney Center.
Nebraska (20-6 overall, 9-5 Big Ten) used a 25-6 run to turn a one-point deficit into a 42-24 lead at halftime. The Huskers extended that lead to 60-34 with 13:40 left. That is when UW started its run.

The Badgers held NU without a point for nearly eight minutes, using a modified zone defense, cutting the lead to 13 points with 6:46 remaining. With three minutes left and trailing by 15 points, UW scored the next seven, forcing Nebraska to call a timeout.
Wisconsin (8-18, 4-10) continued its rally, scoring six straight to make the score 64-56 with 1:27 to go. With the Badgers forced to foul, the Huskers made all four of their free throws in the final 69 seconds to thwart the comeback attempt. A late 3-pointer by Taylor Wurtz ended the game scoring.
Four Badgers scored in double figures led by Morgan Paige's 15 points. Wurtz (14), Anya Covington (12) and Gorman (10), joined Paige in double figures.
UW continued to struggle from the field, shooting just 38 percent (19-of-50) from the field, including 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from 3-point range. The Huskers shot 43.4 percent (23-of-53) from the field, but just 29.4 percent (5-of-17) from deep.
Nebraska's Jordan Hooper recorded a double-double, leading all scorers with 19 points and pulling down a career-high 18 rebounds. The Huskers also had four players in double digits as Emily Cady (13), Lindsey Moore (11) and Kaitlyn Burke (11) also hit double figures.
After getting outrebounded 21-10 in the first half, Wisconsin finished with 31 rebounds, just four less than Nebraska. The Huskers scored 36 points in the paint, compared to 20 for the Badgers, and also tallied 16 second-chance points.
Nebraska jumped out to an 11-4 lead just three minutes into the game but UW fought back to take an 18-17 lead with 9:57 left in the half. Gorman did most of the damage for the Badgers in the first half as she scored all of her career-high 10 points in the first 20 minutes.
The Huskers turned up the defensive pressure after that, limiting UW to just two points over the next six-plus minutes. NU made 15 of its 29 shots in the first half (.517) while the Badgers shot just 35 percent (7-of-20) in the first frame.
Wisconsin travels to Indiana to face the Hoosiers in its final road game of the season on Thursday at 6 p.m.
