TAMPA, Fla. -- Wisconsin wrapped up competition at the USF Tournament with a split Sunday afternoon. The Badgers opened play with an 8-0, six-inning, victory over Drake before falling, 5-1, to Arkansas in their second game.

Wisconsin concluded its opening weekend of play with a 2-2 record, posting a win and a loss both days of the tournament.
The Badgers started Sunday morning with a dominating performance against the Drake Bulldogs. After three and a half scoreless innings, the Badgers took control of the game in the bottom of the fourth. UW jumped all over Drake starting pitcher Jordan Gronewold, scoring four runs on five hits.
Whitney Massey got the offense started with a double to left field and Stephanie Peace followed it up with a single. An RBI by Molly Spence scored the first Badger run and Wisconsin's offense was off and running.
Wisconsin scored another run in the fifth inning and put up two more in the sixth to end the game, 8-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Cassandra Darrah earned her first win of the season, pitching six complete innings and allowing just three hits. Darrah struck out two and walked one.
Wisconsin collected eight hits in 24 at bats. Marissa Mersch led the Badgers, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.
The Badgers second game of the day featured the Arkansas Razorbacks. After three scoreless innings, Wisconsin took the lead in the top of the fourth when Spence stepped in as a pinch hitter and scored Vanessa Nunez from third base.
Arkansas erased UW's lead in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs on three hits, including an in the park home run. The Razorbacks added two more runs in the sixth when Jennifer Rambo ripped a two-run homer over the right field fence.
Wisconsin put up a fight in the top of the seventh, but couldn't find a way to score, falling by a score of 5-1.
Meghan McIntosh suffered the loss for the Badgers, pitching 5.1 innings, giving up seven hits and allowing five runs.
