Freshman
Kendra Lewis had a historic freshman campaign breaking several Badger freshman records, while also etching her name into several other categories for a single season record. Lewis primarily served as a designated player/utility, seeing time on the mound and in the outfield. In 43 appearances, Lewis slashed a .408 batting average, .650 slugging percentage, and .442 on-base percentage. She also totaled four doubles, two triples and 39 RBI. Lewis' batting average ranks sixth in program history for highest batting average in a single season, and her .650 slugging percentage ranks eighth.
In freshman single season records, Lewis surpassed
Hilary Blomberg's freshman record for highest batting average (.408), took over the top spot above Badger All-American Chloe Miller for highest slugging percentage (.650) as a freshman, and succeeds Badger great Kelsey Jenkins for highest OPS (on-base + slugging percentage) with a 1.092 OPS in her freshman season. The Illinois native also wrote her name in the Badger freshman record books for hits (49/T-6th), triples (2/T-7th), home runs (7/T-6th), RBI (39/2
nd), and total bases (78/T-5th).
For a second straight season, sophomore
Hilary Blomberg earned All-Big Ten honors- this time as Second Team. Blomberg slashed a .339 batting average, .637 slugging percentage, and a .407 on-base percentage. Blomberg totaled 18 multi-hit games, and 10 multi-RBI games. On April 25, Blomberg hit her 100
th career hit, and totaled 57 hits, surpassing the 50 she hit as a freshman a season ago. This season, the Verona, Wisconsin native stepped up defensively and became the team's every day third baseman.
Sophomore
Danielle Lucey appeared in 53 games while starting 52 in centerfield. Lucey became the Badgers starting center fielder after appearing in 45 games and starting in one as a freshman. This season, Lucey held a .990 fielding percentage with just one error on 91 putouts and totaled seven assists. This marks the first All-Big ten honor for Lucey.
