MADISON, Wis. - Despite coming back from a 12-point second-half deficit, the Wisconsin women's basketball team dropped a 68-66 decision to Michigan Saturday at the Kohl Center. The Badgers led by as many as four points, 64-60, with 2:27 to play but it was not enough as the Wolverines outscored the Badgers 8-2 in the final 2:04 to seal the victory.

The loss drops Wisconsin into a tie for third in the Big Ten Conference standings with the Wolverines at 9-5.
Jade Davis buoyed the Badgers (14-12) with a career-high 14 points, making a career-high four 3-pointers including three in the second frame. Davis' efforts helped Wisconsin outscore Michigan, 41-34, in the second half.
Although Wisconsin was unable to come out with the victory, the Badgers won the battle off the glass, outrebounding Michigan, 32-31, including 10 rebounds each from senior Lin Zastrow and sophomore Taylor Wurtz.
Without a rest, Zastrow was not only tenacious off the glass, but she finished second on the team with 11 points to collect her fifth career double-double on Senior Day.
Wisconsin led 17-16 with 8:42 left in the first half and didn't lead again until the second half when Davis notched her third 3-pointer of the game with 4:07 to go to give Wisconsin a 59-58 advantage.
The Badgers were able to extend their lead to 64-60 with 2:27 left in the game, but the Wolverine's (16-10) ability to outscore Wisconsin, 8-2, in the final 2:04 of the matchup prevented Wisconsin from capturing the victory.
Michigan guard Courtney Boylan carried the Wolverines to victory, scoring six of their final eight points in the final 1:21 of the contest.
Boylan tied the game at 64-64 with 1:21 left in the game to start her six-point run. Zastrow answered with a jumper 21 seconds later to notch the Badgers' final lead of the game at 66-64, but it was not enough. Boylan sealed the victory with back-to-back baskets in the final 44 seconds, including the game-winner with eight seconds left to play.
Each team notched nine 3-pointers, including six apiece in the second half. All nine Badgers that played scored, helping Wisconsin finish 25-of-58 for 43.1 percent from the field, including 9-of-25 from behind the arc.
Michigan got a game-high 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting from Rachel Sheffer to help the Wolverines finish with a .482 field goal percentage (27-of-56), including 9-of-32 (.281) from deep. Kate Thompson added 17 points and Boylan 10 points for Michigan.
The Badgers ability to control the ball in the second half with just two turnovers helped the squad finish with just eight giveaways, their second lowest single-game total of the season. The Wolverines matched Wisconsin with eight turnovers. Both teams also dished off 15 assists with Karel leading the Badgers with six dimes.
Wisconsin sank 7-of-7 attempts from the free throw line, marking its third perfect performance of the season from the free stripe.
The Badgers wrap up their home slate on Wednesday, hosting Indiana at 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin concludes regular season play on Sunday at Ohio State at 11 a.m.
