High School:Â Attended Thunder Ridge High School ... local state champion in both Karate and Jiu Jutsu, 12 years of Karate competition experience ... served as an instructor for four years ... became first degree black belt as one of youngest in teh FSKA Association in Colorado ... lifting for powerlifting for the past 2 years.
Personal: Parents are Randall and Laura Kokkinen ... has two brothers Richard and Jim, as well as a sister, Carol ... majoring in data science
Reason for choosing UW-Madison: I chose UW–Madison because of its strong academic reputation and the quality of its programs. I was also drawn to Madison as a city, it has an incredible atmosphere, a great balance of academics and social life, and a unique energy that makes it an exciting place to live and learn. Additionally, having family members who are alumni made the university feel like a meaningful fit for me, and I was excited about the opportunity to experience life in a new state outside of Colorado.
What Wisconsin Rowing means to me:Â Wisconsin Rowing is all about grit, stubborn commitment, and being able to push yourself beyond your limits. The rowing team is a true brotherhood of high quality guys that I always want to surround myself with.
