Former Wake Forest forward returns home to join the Badgers
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's soccer head coach Paula Wilkins has announced the addition of forward Sonoma Bever to the program. Bever joins the Badgers after spending her freshman season at Wake Forest.
A Madison native and Edgewood High School graduate, Bever made two appearances as a true freshman for the Demon Deacons before missing time due to injury. She was also the first player signed by Forward Madison's USL W League team and is slated to compete for the club during its inaugural 2026 season.
Prior to Wake Forest, Bever put together an outstanding prep career at Edgewood. As a senior, she was named the 2025 Conference Player of the Year and helped lead her team to a conference championship. Bever earned First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors in all four years and was named First Team All-State in 2024 after earning All-State recognition in 2023.
