Wisconsin returns to McClimon for ranked Big Ten matchup
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin women's soccer (7-2-3, 3-1-2 Big Ten) returns home on Thursday, Oct. 8, welcoming No. 8 Ohio State (9-1-1, 5-1-0 Big Ten) to McClimon Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT, with the match streaming on B1G+.
1. History with Ohio State
Wisconsin trails Ohio State 11-13-9 in the all-time series, but the Badgers have found success against the Buckeyes in Madison. Wisconsin holds a 9-3-4 advantage in home meetings through the 2024 season.
The teams last met on Sept. 18, 2025, playing to a 0-0 draw in Columbus. The year prior, Ohio State earned a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin in the opening round of the 2024 Big Ten Tournament.
2. Know the Buckeyes
Ohio State enters Thursday with a 9-1-1 overall record and a 5-1-0 mark in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes have won three straight conference matches, defeating USC 2-0, Iowa 3-1 and Northwestern 3-0. Their lone loss of the season came in a 1-0 decision at UCLA.
Amanda Schlueter has led the Buckeyes offensively this season and was recently named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List alongside teammate Ava Bramblett. Schlueter entered October with 10 goals, including six game-winners, while Elle Britt added four goals.
3. Badgers in Big Ten Play
Wisconsin enters Thursday at 3-1-2 in Big Ten play. The Badgers opened conference action with a scoreless draw at Illinois before earning three consecutive shutout victories over Northwestern, Indiana and Maryland. After falling at Rutgers, Wisconsin responded with another clean sheet in its 0-0 draw at Nebraska.
Wisconsin has allowed just three goals through its first six Big Ten matches, recording five conference shutouts during that stretch. The Badgers return to McClimon for the first time since their 2-0 victory over Indiana on Sept. 20.
4. Last Time Out
Wisconsin battled Nebraska to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon in Lincoln. The Badgers controlled the attack, out shooting the Huskers 21-10 and holding a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Drew Stover made three saves to record her seventh shutout of the season. Jane Rogers led Wisconsin with five shots, while Abby Ballek added four as the Badgers generated 13 attempts in the second half.
