Badgers fall to No. 7 USC

McCray tallies double-double in conference battle

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team fell 86-64 against No. 7 USC in a Wednesday night conference battle at the Kohl Center.

Serah Williams finished the game with 19 points for the Badgers, leading all players. The junior added seven rebounds as well.

The three-point shooting for Wisconsin was noteworthy in Wednesday's match, as the Badgers finished at a 6-for-8 clip on the night.

Four of those three-pointers came from Tess Myers, as the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native was perfect from the field—earning 12 points in the process.

Carter McCray rounded out the Wisconsin offensive production with a double-double, tallying 12 points and 11 rebounds.

How It Happened:

USC burst out to a quick 6-0 lead, but the Badgers responded quickly with the help of Myers and Williams on the offensive end. Williams finished with the highlight of the quarter—converting a layup and a free throw at the buzzer to cut into the Trojans' lead.

Wisconsin and USC traded baskets in the second quarter, as Myers and Leuzinger nailed back-to-back three-pointers to allow the Badgers to pull within 23-20. The Trojans finished the half on a 16-8 run to expand their lead to 39-28 heading into the locker room.

USC controlled the second half and continued to add to their advantage, outscoring Wisconsin 47-36 to notch a 86-64 victory.
