Head Coach Pete Waite
On the aspect of Nebraska's game that gave UW the most problems:
"They had some really great outside hitters and they were just pounding the ball. We couldn't get a good block or a good dig on them, but overall I think we battled in the last game and I think we definitely improved."
On the team's mindset going into the third set:
"We obviously lost the first two so we just wanted to improve. We wanted to play harder, stay positive and I think we did that we just need to be able to close out games."
On the positives to take away from the loss:
"There were times we were playing right with them and battling pretty well. I think we just made to many errors on our side of the net, some serve receive errors and just a little too cautious sometimes.
"It's a strong team so there are times when they overpower you a little bit with their speed, and we need to play a little better defense. Live and learn. Our young group has to take something from this and fight back next time knowing they have a shot at them if they play their game all the time."
On the added pressure of playing a team coached by former UW head coach John Cook:
"No, they don't know him from Adam. They were all so young when he left and I came in, I got to think they were 10 or 11 years old. So I don't think so, it was nothing we talked about at all it's a different program it's his team. It's just Big Ten play and its tough, and they are strong.
On what the team needs to improve on by Sunday:
"Staying tight as a team, we're going to come out again on Sunday afternoon against Iowa so we can't think about this one at all, we put it behind us. We know what we've got to improve in to days and really get back to what we did against Michigan when we won that match."
On losing the first set:
"That's hard you can't look at one of those call and get it back if the line judge doesn't see something and you do you just have to play. I was proud of us that we did battle back but sometimes that can air out of your sails a little bit when you lose that one and it could have been a big difference. "
