TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Wisconsin softball team (0-2) lost to Texas A&M (1-0) at the Kajikawa Classic on Friday morning, 16-1, in five innings.
The Aggies jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the first inning thanks to six hits and six walks as 16 batters appeared in the frame.

After a scoreless third, Wisconsin got on the board in the third inning.
Freshman Shannel Blackshear led off with a single up the middle and Spence followed with a walk. Following a Massey strikeout, Olivarez singled to load the bases. After a Badger strikeout, freshman Maggie Strange was hit by a pitch for the second time in as many days to drive in the lone Wisconsin run of the day.
Texas A&M added five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to its final conclusion of 16-1.
Blackshear was the top UW hitter as she had two hits in three at bats. Spence also had a productive day at the plate going 1-for-1 with a pair of walks.
