Ikemizu comes to Wisconsin from the University of The Incarnate Word, where he graduated with his master’s degree in kinesiology and was promoted to associate strength & conditioning coach through his five-year tenure. During his time at UIW, Ikemizu worked with multiple teams including football, baseball, softball, men’s & women’s track & field, men’s & women’s soccer, and men’s & women’s tennis.
Prior to UIW, Ikemizu completed his undergraduate degree at Florida International University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude; earning his bachelor's of science degree in sports & fitness. During his time at FIU, he interned with FIU’s strength & conditioning department for four years. While at FIU, he worked with multiple sports including football, men’s & women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s & women’s track & field, women’s tennis, and men’s & women’s soccer.
Ikemizu also completed a summer internship at the University of Florida in 2014. He gained valuable experience working with football, men’s & women’s swimming & diving, track & field, and women’s volleyball while working with the Gators. Ikemizu is certified as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association.
