November 04, 2025 | Men's Soccer
The Badgers score late to secure the 1-0 victory
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team (6-8-0, 3-6-0 Big Ten) ended its conference schedule with a 1-0 victory over Northwestern (7-6-3, 2-5-2 Big Ten) on Tuesday night. Senior Thomas Raimbault scored the game-winner, while Matisse Hébert posted a shutout at McClimon.
How It Happened:
The first half started slow, with both teams trading possession of the ball. The Badgers had a prime scoring opportunity when Bart Muns sent a crossing pass to Raimbault in the 26th minute. Northwestern's keeper dove on the ball before Raimbault could tap it into the net.
Wisconsin's Hébert was busy between the posts in the first half, making three big saves to keep the Wildcats off the scoreboard.
The second frame started similarly to the first, and for over 86 minutes the game remained tied at 0-0. The Badgers broke the tie in the 87th minute when Raimbault beat the Northwestern keeper and tapped in the game-winning goal. Aidan Martinez sent a crossing pass at midfield to Ola Arntsen who headed the ball past the Wildcats' back line.

It was a really tightly contested match against a quality Northwestern team that hasn't given up much, especially in the last few weeks. Credit to them, they've had a good season."
