MADISON, Wis. — The No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball team returns to action this week, welcoming Butler to the UW Field House for an exhibition match on Friday, August 14. First serve is set for 6 p.m. (CT).
The match marks just the fourth time Wisconsin and Butler will meet, having previously faced off in 1996, 1998 and 2005 in neutral sites. Friday will see the first contest between the two teams in Madison. The Badgers have yet to drop a match to the Bulldogs, holding a 3-0 record over the opponent.
Butler volleyball wrapped up its 2025 season with a 12-17 overall record, going 5-11 in Big East conference play, led by senior Sawyer Jones.
Wisconsin is fresh off its opening weekend of action that kicked off its 2026 slate of volleyball, where it welcomed a stacked roster of Badger alumnae back to the Field House for its first exhibition match this season. Freshman Audrey Flanagan helped provide a spark for the Badgers on the offensive end with 17 kills, but the alumnae ultimately took the match win with a 3-1 victory.
This match will serve as the team's final exhibition match before entering the regular season. Wisconsin will kick off it's season with the AVCA First Serve at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis.
