MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin softball team is set to face one of its biggest tests of the season this weekend, as they prepare to host No. 7/5 Nebraska for a three-game series at Goodman Diamond—beginning on Friday, April 9.Â
Friday's game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network. The final two games of the series will begin at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11, as both will be streamed on B1G+. Fans can catch up on each game's promotion with the link, HERE.Â
The Badgers (22-12, 7-5 B1G) have won eight of their last 10 games, emerging victorious in three consecutive Big Ten series for the first time since 2023. In UW's last two wins, the unit erased six-run deficits, each tied for the second-largest comebacks in program history. They did so on Wednesday night against Loyola Chicago—tallying seven unanswered runs to win 7-6 at Goodman Diamond.
UW enters the weekend with a rank of No. 36 in the RPI, its highest mark since the 2023 season. The Badgers have jumped 40 spots in the RPI since the beginning of the 2026 campaign. Wisconsin is tied for fifth place in the Big Ten, looking to gain ground on the Cornhuskers (30-6, 11-1) this weekend, who sit in second place. Nebraska leads the all-time series against the Badgers at 28-15, as the Cornhuskers have won the last four matchups over UW.Â
Wisconsin is hitting .328 as a team through 34 games, which ranks 44th in the country and is tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
There have been numerous key contributors on the offensive end for the Badgers, as redshirt freshman Jaclyn Showalter has provided a power surge from the middle of the lineup to help spark UW's success. The Hartland, Wis. native has tallied a home run in each of the last three games, becoming just the 10th Badger in program history to hit a home run in at least three straight games. Showalter is 6-for-16 with four extra base hits and six RBI in her last four games.Â
Junior Hilary Blomberg racked up her 150th career hit on Wednesday night against the Ramblers, barreling a double to the gap in the fourth inning. The catcher has a team-high 19 extra base hits entering the weekend versus Nebraska—batting .406 with 41 RBI. Blomberg currently holds a 19-game on-base streak as well, good for the eighth-longest in program history.Â
In the circle, senior Shelby Jacobson has continued to provide a consistent presence—earning her 10th win of the season versus Loyola Chicago to kick off the week. The right-hander did not allow a hit over 3.1 innings of work, stalling the Ramblers to allow the UW offense to curate a comeback. Jacobson has tossed 17.1 innings in her last three appearances, allowing four runs while striking out 17 batters and walking three.
Up Next: The Badgers will continue conference play next weekend, as they welcome Michigan to Goodman Diamond for a three-game series, set to start on Friday, April 16. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday, as the game will be streamed on B1G+.
