178 Badgers named to Academic All-Big Ten Team

Wisconsin student-athletes honored for academic excellence

MADISON, Wis. — Excelling both in the classroom and on the field, an impressive 178 student-athletes from University of Wisconsin spring sports teams were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-Big Ten team, as announced by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday.

Men's and women's rowing led the way with 28 and 34 honorees, respectively, while women's track and field had 28 student-athletes recognized and men's track and field had 21 honorees. The women's lightweight rowing team saw 20 members earn recognition, along with 14 honorees from the national championship-winning women's ice hockey squad. Combined, the men's and women's golf teams had 11 honorees, and 12 student-athletes from the softball team also received accolades. Both the men's and women's tennis programs had five honorees each.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list as of May 1 for spring sports), have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

In addition, the following student-athletes were recognized by having 4.0 GPA's.
