FRESHMEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Wisconsin clashed with two ranked Big Ten foes over the weekend. In Friday's match against No. 62 Indiana the Badgers came up short in singles play, falling 2-4 to the Hoosiers. On Sunday, the Badgers did not let off the gas against No. 52 Purdue, claiming the doubles point and winning three singles matches to clinch the 4-1 victory.
Freshmen Patrik Meszaros and Sachiv Kumar both did not drop a match this weekend. Meszaros went 2-0 in doubles play with his partner Michael Minasyan and won his No. 2 singles match Friday night in straight sets. Kumar's Friday night match was left unfinished, but he dominated against his Purdue counterpart Sunday, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Freshman Edouard Aubert cruised to a straight set victory on Sunday in just his second match at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. Aubert notched his 10th win during dual play this spring and improved to 5-2 in conference play.
