BIG TEN ACTION RETURNS TO NIELSEN: The Wisconsin men's tennis team will have two conference matches at home this weekend. The Badgers face the No. 36 Michigan State Spartans on Friday, March 14th and will welcome the No. 17 Michigan Wolverines on Sunday, March 16th. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m. and noon, respectively. Attendance is free at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

ILLINOIS ROAD TRIP: Wisconsin traveled south of the border last weekend to open Big Ten action against Northwestern and Illinois. On Friday, the Badgers were out dueled by the Wildcats, losing a close match 5-2. The Fighting Illini cruised to a 7-0 victory against the Badgers on Sunday.
A bright spot of the weekend was the continued development of the Badgers' No. 1 doubles partnership. Sophomores Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek started Big Ten play strong with two match victories in the top slot. Against Northwestern's Saiprakash Goli and Greyson Casey, Olsson and Zlatohlavek cruised to a dominant 6-2 victory. On Sunday they took down Illinois' No.1 duo 7-6, winning the tiebreak 7-5. Olsson/Zlatohlavek improved to an impressive 7-3 record this spring.
In singles play, Michael Minasyan and Edouard Aubert both saw straight set victories against their Northwestern counterparts. Freshman Patrik Meszaros moved up to the No. 2 slot and had competitive matches against Northwestern's Felix Nordby and Illinois' No. 48 ranked William Mroz.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENTS: Wisconsin holds a 44-38 edge in the all-time series against Michigan State. In 2024, the No. 18 ranked Spartans took the 7-0 victory over the Badgers. MSU has four players in the March 4th singles rankings: Ozan Baris (No. 4), Aristotelis Thanos (No. 21), Matthew Forbes (No. 63), and Max Sheldon (No. 78). The Spartan partnership of Thanos and Baris is ranked No. 53 in the March 4th doubles rankings.
The Badgers are 8-85-1 in the all-time series against the Wolverines. Michigan is currently on a 15-match winning streak. Michigan's Benjamin Kittay is ranked No. 61 and Gavin Young is ranked No. 87 in the ITA March 4th rankings. Kittay and Young are also ranked No. 7 in doubles as of March 4th.

On Sunday, March 23th the Badgers will dual with the Nittany Lions at 10 a.m. in University Park, Pennsylvania.
