Junior forward shares Badger lead with nine points
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin junior forward Quinn Finley, who returned for the 2025-26 NCAA college hockey season as one of its top scorers, was added to the 2025 United States Collegiate Selects Team that will compete at the 2025 Spengler Cup, which will take place Dec. 26–31 in Davos, Switzerland.
Finley boasts five goals and nine points through eight games this season to share the team lead in points for one of the nation's top-10 offenses. He ranks second on the team in goals after leading the Badgers with 20 goals and 40 points last season as a 2025 Second-Team All-Big Ten pick.
The 97th Spengler Cup will include the U.S. Collegiate Selects, Team Canada, IFK Helsinki, Sparta Prague, Fribourg-Gottéron, and HC Davos.
This marks the first time in tournament history that a team of NCAA Division I college hockey players will take part in the event.
Each team will play a minimum of three games and a maximum of five in six days, with the U.S. Collegiate Selects opening the tournament with a game against Team Canada on Dec. 26 at 1:15 p.m. CT. Team Canada will be made up of professionals from European leagues, the AHL, and ECHL.
How to watch the tournament in the U.S. will be announced at a later date.
The U.S. Collegiate Select team will be made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men's ice hockey, with each conference being represented. Players added to the team have been announced on a weekly basis.
This will be the second time an American-based select team has taken part in the Spengler Cup, following a U.S. squad that won the tournament in 1988.
In recent history, former Badger defenseman Cody Goloubef won the tournament with Team Canada in 2018.
