Badgers seek second-consecutive 4-0 start

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 24 Wisconsin men’s basketball team squares off with SIUE in the final game of their season-opening homestand Monday at the Kohl Center. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available on UWBadgers.Com.
UW looks to begin 4-0 for the second-consecutive season, and third in the last four campaigns.
Fans that can’t make it to Madison can watch on Big Ten Network or listen on the Badger Radio Network as Matt Lepay and Charlie Wills have the call.
LAST TIME OUT
The Badgers improved to 3-0 last Tuesday with an emphatic 86-55 win over Ball State. It's the fifth time UW has scored 80-plus points in each of the first three games of a season, and the first such since the 2005-06 campaign. Five Badgers scored in double-figures, led by junior Nolan Winter's 19 points. The Lakeville, Minnesota native earned his fifth-career double-double, collecting 10 rebounds in the contest.

PLAYING THE COUGARS
The Badgers and Cougars have squared off twice all-time, with UW holding a 2-0 lead. Bucky ousted the Cougars 88-58 in their last ecounter, a Nov. 18 matchup in 2008. Jon Leuer had a game-high 19 points off the bench on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting.
SIUE comes into this year's contest at 3-1, with wins over Drake, UTSA and East-West University. Sophomore Ring Malith leads the Panthers with 17.8 points per game, adding 6.5 rebounds and a steal.
CRASHING THE GLASS
The Badgers boast the sixth-tallest squad in Division I this season, and have seen the results. Bucky once again won on the inside last Tuesday, out-rebounding Ball State 45-25. They secured 15 boards on the offensive glass, compared to the Cardinals' 8, as well. The Badgers average 14.33 offensive boards per game - the fifth best mark in the Big Ten Conference.
