Four Badgers score to collect another conference win
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Four Badgers scored to collect a 5-1 win against St. Cloud State on Friday night, collecting the team's eighth conference win in the road game.
The Badgers scored early as sophomore Emma Venusio put Wisconsin on the board with 18:03 remaining in the first period of play.
After Venusio's goal, the rest of the period remained scoreless, with junior goaltender Ava McNaughton making five saves.
Wisconsin tripled its score during the second period. To open, captain Caroline Harvey notched a back-handed goal off an assist from Kirsten Simms and alternate captain Laila Edwards.
Harvey struck again with 4:52 remaining in the second, with the Badgers taking a 3-0 lead. Harvey found the puck from Simms to up the Badgers' score.
A Husky scored at the end of the period during the Badger's power play to make the score 3-1.
In the third, senior Claire Enright took a dump-off pass from Finley McCarthy, and put it past a tight window to make the score read 4-1 with 9:52 remaining in the game.
In the final minutes, Wisconsin went on the power play and Simms found the back of the net, putting the Badgers up 5-1.
Wisconsin outshot St. Cloud 37-19, and McNaughton made 18 saves.

Emma Venusio has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time in her career. Her two goals this season are a new career-high.

The Badger's unbeaten streak against the Huskies now extends to 31-games. It is also the 100th win against St. Cloud State in program history.
