Simon Tassy scores lone Badger goal
MADISON, Wis. – A third-period goal from Simon Tassy wasn't enough to close the gap as the Wisconsin men's hockey team suffered a 5-1 loss on Friday night at the Kohl Center.
Ohio State (5-4-0, 1-2-0 Big Ten - 3 points) opened the scoring 13:33 into the first period on the power play. The Buckeyes then scored three more times, once at 12:59, again at 13:55 and once more at 16:33 into an empty net, to earn a 5-1 victory.

Head Coach Mike Hastings
On the power play effort tonight
"I thought our ineffectiveness on the power play hurt us. We've been able to utilize that opportunity to draw momentum to our bench and to our game. I didn't like how we reacted to giving one up. I thought we had a pretty good first 10 minutes. When you play a team like Ohio State, they're hard, they're heavy, it's going to be a hard and heavy game."
On Tassy's goal
"We had some opportunities, we did not capitalize, and they're a good team when they're in front. Then, when we got it to one, doing something in a positive way, and let's not say that it was a Mona Lisa, but it got behind him. We got some juice in the building, and I didn't think we took advantage of that."
Senior defenseman Ben Dexheimer
On what the team can improve on tomorrow
"I think we just needed energy. I think that's kind of what lacked, and our starts to the period weren't great. I just think we've got to flush it, and have a little energy tomorrow."
Freshman goaltender Daniel Hauser
On his performance in net tonight
"You could chalk it up to bad bounces, but at the end of the day, I know I've got to be better for the team. I know we can be better, I know I can be better as an individual. This game, especially at this level, it'll humble you if you're not ready to go."
