"That's why I think our power-play has been so successful – it's not one-dimensional," Head Coach Mike Hastings said on. "Early in the year, Quinn [Finley] was getting a lot of looks from the flank, and teams were like, 'okay, we're not going to allow that to happen.' You need to have other options and guys that can go out and make plays. If you looked at this last weekend, that's kind of what happened. We did a good job on initial faceoffs on being able to not have to go 200 feet, break it out, get it in. Having a little bit of an attack mentality once we've broke somebody down."
Wisconsin's penalty kill also performed well at Michigan, going 10-for-10 on the kill against what was the nation's best power play. Its season-long penalty kill stands at 85.7 percent, which is good to tie for 15th in the country.

He is tied for first in the nation with six power-play goals, and his eight total goals are tied for sixth.
Fitzgerald currently leads the roster with eight goals, and his 11 points are tied for first.

4 - LAST TIME OUT: UW went on its first conference road trip of the season last weekend, earning a split at No. 2 Michigan, dropping game one, 7-4 -- its first loss of the season -- and winning game two, 6-1.
A see-saw affair in game one, Michigan scored the lone goal of the first period, before Wisconsin responded in the opening five minutes of the second frame, with Luke Osburn and Gavin Morrissey scoring at 2:35 and 4:39. Michigan struck twice in the second, once at 10:33 and again at 14:24, to take a one-goal lead into the third period. To tie the contest at three, Christian Fitzgerald scored on a power-play deflection 9:57 into the third frame, before Ryan Botterill lit the lamp from his knees at 10:42 to restore the Badgers' lead. Just over 30 seconds later, Michigan tied the game then retook the lead at 16:16. Two empty-net goals from the Wolverines in the final two minutes of the game sealed a 7-4 victory for UM.

"We're pretty resilient, top to bottom," said sophomore forward Gavin Morrissey on what the team learned at Michigan. "I think the new guys have really done a good job at picking that up. I think that's something as returners, we wanted to emphasize going into this year, and the new guys have picked that up. As you saw, a lot of guys came into the lineup on Saturday and played really well, so I think it's big to have that piece of our team identity starting to feel a little bit more concrete."
5 - SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES: The Buckeyes sit 4-4-0 through 10 games, including going 0-2-0 in Big Ten play. They enter the series after an off week, but were swept by Penn State at home on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 30-31. OSU held leads in both contests, but lost game one, 3-2, and game two, 4-3.
Sophomore forward Félix Caron leads the team with eight points (4g, 4a). Caron is tied with junior forward Riley Thompson for the lead in goals with four. Freshman goaltender Kristoffer Eberly has four wins in seven starts, accumulating a .930 save percentage and a 1.87 goals-allowed on average.
"Their whole group buys into defending," said Coach Hastings on Ohio State's play. "They've got a really good goaltender, big kid that's had success in this league. They're going to be a tough out for anybody. … They're not going to beat themselves – they're not going to turn over a lot of pucks. They try and force you into turning over pucks, and if you don't buy into being able to do the hard, you can help create their offense. There's nobody in our league we need to help create offense for because they all can."
6 - HOW TO WATCH: Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Both games stream on B1G+. Audio play-by-play can be found on 1310 WIBA as well as on the Badgers app and The Varsity Network app. You can also follow along on X/Twitter and Instagram at @BadgerMHockey.
