Badgers school the Great Danes, 69-59

UW moves to 10-2 for first time since 2009-10

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball took down UAlbany 69-59, riding a brilliant fourth quarter to improve its record to 10-2. The Badgers are now 7-0 at home for the first time since 2006-07, and are 10-2 for the first time since 2009-10.

There were 12 lead changes in the games, with the two teams going back-and-forth throughout. Wisconsin led at half just 32-31.

The Badgers found themselves down three points going into the fourth quarter, but Serah William's 11 points led an offensive surge for the Badgers, outscoring UAlbany 25-to-12 in the frame. This included an 11-0 Wisconsin run that lasted for almost four minutes.

Williams finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds - her 30th career double-double, and her eighth career 25-point game. She started the game going 4-for-4 from the field and scoring six of the Badger's first nine points. The junior secured her third straight 20-point double-double.

Carter McCray joined Williams to create a dominant paint-scoring presence throughout the game. McCray earned her second double-double with UW, scoring 15 points and securing a UW-high 14 rebounds. She has now scored in double-figures in five consecutive games.

For the game, Wisconsin outscored UAlbany 42-to-16 in the paint, the highest margin of the season so far for the Badgers. UW cleaned up on the glass as well, out rebounding the Great Danes 42-to-22, including 20-to-5 in the fourth quarter.

UAlbany stayed in the game throughout the first three quarters thanks to long-range shooting, going 6-for-13 from 3-point range in that time. Conversely, UW started off just 1-for-9, before Lily Krahn hit two 3s in the second half. Krahn scored eight points in the game, with all of them coming in the second half. 

Wisconsin went 16-for-24 from the free throw line, its second straight game with 16+ free throw makes.
