MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's basketball team (3-1) rolled to an 82-45 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers (2-3) on Sunday, Nov. 17, in a Dairy State battle.
Tess Myers and Carter McCray each posted 15 points, setting new season highs. Myers also drained five three-pointers, marking another season best.
Serah Williams contributed 14 points, bringing her career total to 996.
As a team, Wisconsin shot 47.8% (33-69) from the field, 40.9% (9-22) from beyond the arc, and 77.8% (7-9) at the free throw line. The Badgers were dominant in the paint, outscoring Milwaukee 48-24.
Defensively, Wisconsin stifled the Panthers, limiting them to a season-low 30.5% shooting (18-59) from the field and just 13.0% (3-23) from three-point range.
How It Happened
The Badgers took control early, erupting for a 12-0 run in the first quarter. They shot 50.0% from the field in the first half, with Natalie Leuzinger perfect from the floor (3-3) to close out the half. Wisconsin also dominated the boards, out-rebounding Milwaukee 29-11. At the break, the Badgers led by 20, 44-22— their largest halftime lead of the season.
In the second half, Wisconsin continued to push the pace, starting with a 13-0Â run that spanned the third and fourth quarters. Tessa Grady was perfect from the field, including a three-pointer, while several players saw extended minutes, including Alie Bisballe, Gracie Grzesk, Alba Martín Mesa, and Reese Jaramillo.
