PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team was unable to close it out against Rutgers on Sunday afternoon, as it suffered a 73-67 loss in Piscataway, NJ.
Avery LaBarbera finished the game with 16 points, as she went 4-for-6 from behind the arc. She added seven rebounds and four assists.
Julie Pospisilova and Maty Wilke both added 15 points apiece, and Serah Williams rounded out double figure scoring with 14 points and grabbed seven boards.Â
The Badgers took a 51-48 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Rutgers responded with a 7-0 run to start the final frame.
Maty Wilke scored 10 of her 15 points in the final quarter, but the Scarlet Knights executed from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Rutgers went 15-for-19 from the stripe in the final quarter, giving the home team a 73-67 edge over the Badgers.
Rutgers was led by Chyna Cornwell who finished the game with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.Â
The Badgers will return to the Kohl Center to face the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday night. The tip is set for 6:30 p.m. Fans can watch the game on B1G+ or listen on WTSO.
