COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team dropped a 2-1 overtime heartbreaker at No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday afternoon at the OSU Ice Rink.
Cassie Hall scored the lone goal for the Badgers (12-2-0, 8-1-0-0-1-0 WCHA) as UW was able to salvage a league point against the Buckeyes (11-1-0, 9-0-0-2-0-0 WCHA).Â
The Buckeyes grabbed the lead early in the first period and continued to control play as they outshot the Badgers 12-4.Â
Hall scored the equalizer early in the second period as she found an opening in the five-hole.Â
The Badgers controlled play in the third, outshooting OSU 11-9, but neither team was able to break the deadlock.Â
Ohio State scored 1:17 into overtime to claim the victory between the top-two teams in the country.Â
