
Five Things to Know: Badgers head to Texas and Georgia

Wisconsin set to compete against top-10 programs
MADISON, Wis. – The No. 22 Wisconsin men's swimming and diving program (3-1, 2-0 B1G) continues the regular season with the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas this Thursday-Saturday. Prelims start each day at 10 a.m. and finals follow at 6 p.m. Divers are headed to Athens, Georgia, for the Georgia Invitational from Thursday-Saturday. Preliminaries begin at 8:30 a.m. CT while finals start daily at 5:30 p.m. CT.
Here are five things to know for this weekend.
1. Ranked in the Top 25: According to the CSCAA preseason poll, the Badgers check in at No. 22 to start the season. They are competing against an elite stage at the Texas Invitational, including No. 7 Texas, No. 8 Stanford, and No. 16 Southern California. The divers also face No. 9 Georgia in their competitive slate for this weekend.
2. Torok Time: Sophomore Dominik Mark Torok's dominant performance to the start of the season has earned him Big Ten Men's Swimmer of the Week twice this season. Torok has won at least three individual events at each meet this season, while also earning two NCAA "B" cut times in the 400 individual medley and 200 fly. Torok helped the Badgers defeat Minnesota in the Border Battle on Nov. 3 with individual wins in the 200 breast, 200 fly, and 200 individual medley.
3. B1G Leaders: The Badgers have six athletes that are amongst the top eight in the conference including Taiko Torepe-Ormsby with a third-place ranking in the 50 free. Defending Big Ten champion, Jake Newmark checks in at No. 6 in the 200 free, accompanied by Luukas Vainio with a ninth-place rank in the event. Newmark is also ranked fourth in the 200 back and tied for ninth in the 100 back. Yigit Aslan sits in third place in the Big Ten in the 500 free. Defending conference champion Torok is ranked second in the 400 individual medley and third in the 200 breast. Mathew Segal represents the Badgers in the breaststroke with a third-place rank in the 100 breast.
4. Diving Right in: Senior Daniel Muller looks to continue his success on the 3-meter board at the Georgia Invitational after earning two consecutive wins at the start of the season. Muller also won the 1-meter with 326.63 points, earning an NCAA "B" cut standard against Notre Dame. He is currently ranked sixth in the Big Ten in the 3-meter board and eighth in the 1-meter.
