No. 14 Badgers racing the Fighting Irish
MADISON, Wis. — The No. 22 Wisconsin men's swim and dive team will host Notre Dame for its first official meet of the year on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 12 p.m. The Badgers held a high-spirited intrasquad meet on Sept. 25.
As the team gets ready to make waves in NCAA competition, here are five things to know:
1. TOGETHER WE SWIM: PINK OUT
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
At this week's meet, the Badgers will wear pink and spectators are encouraged to join in the pink out theme. Following competition, fans are welcome to stay for a 2026-27 schedule poster giveaway with autographs while supplies last.
There is strength in community and no one fights alone. Together we swim.
2. WHERE THE BADGERS RANK
Entering the 2026-27 season, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America ranked the Wisconsin men's swim and dive team No. 22 overall. The team earned 33 points from the committee, ranking below No. 21 Southern Methodist (38) and above No. 23 Florida State (31).

3. THE BIG TEN WATCH LIST
The Big Ten conference named sophomore swimmer Enzo Solitario and freshman diver Alvaro Santos-Ramos to the list of athletes to watch this season.
Solitario was named to the 2026-27 US National Swim Team ahead of his sophomore season. Previously, he qualified for the 2026 NCAA Championships and earned honors as All-America Second Team in the 800 free relay. Solitario was named to the 2026 All-Big Ten Second Team and 2026 All-Big Ten Freshman Team.
Hailing from Madrid, Spain, Santos-Ramos competed for Real Canoe N.C. With the club he placed fourth in the men's category A platform competition (397.35) at the 9th Madrid Open Diving competition in 2025 as well as placing second in the 3m Springboard and third-place in Platform at the 2025 Spanish Age-Group Championships.
4. NEW ADDITION TO THE STAFF
To begin the 2026-27 season, head coach Jack Brown has added a new member to his staff, Jan Lanser as a diving coaching assistant. Lanser joins Andrew Capobianco in overseeing the dive team.
A 2026 graduate, Lanser competed four seasons on the Wisconsin men's diving team. In 2025, he qualified for the 2025 NCAA Zones and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
"Jan also brings a unique energy and enthusiasm to the pool deck that I know will elevate our team moving forward," said Capobianco.
